There will be no land grab at Great Northeastern War XXXVIII. There is ample space available for camping, but flexibility is important. Please communicate with your neighbors on-site to coordinate and ensure everyone’s space needs are met. Thank you!
The Great Northeastern Dessert War: Cake vs. Pie
Citizens of the Confectionery Kingdom,
Ready your forks and steady your dessert plates—history is about to be baked.
At Malagentia’s own Great Northeastern War, the long-simmering rivalry between Team Cake and Team Pie will erupt into an all-out, slightly crumbly conflict. After generations of whispered arguments like “But cake has layers!” versus “Pie has filling AND crust!”, diplomacy has failed. Only one dessert can reign supreme.
The Factions
* Team Cake will march proudly under banners of buttercream, wielding spatulas and shouting battle cries like “BIRTHDAYS FOREVER!” His Majesty's and their heir consort's dessert honor must be defended!
* Team Pie will counter with rolling pins held high, chanting “FRUIT IS BASICALLY HEALTHY!” Her Majesty and the Sovereign Heir will be fighting for the love of all things pie!
The Battlefield
The war will be fought on neutral ground—the fields of Hebron Pines RV & Golf—which will be immediately covered in sprinkles, crumbs, and questionable amounts of whipped cream.
The Prize
Eternal bragging rights!

We'll be hosting a full, multi-day offering of martial activities for Archery, Thrown Weapons, Armoured Combat and Fencing, including a variety of tournaments, novelty shoots, woods battles (in real woods!) and strategic scenarios.

***At the request of the site owners, pets are no longer allowed at Great Northeastern War.*** Service animals are, of course, still welcome.
***RV camping is permitted at the event. A separate fee must be paid to the site and all arrangements for placement and hookup must be done through the site owners directly, NO EXCEPTIONS. When you arrive at Gate, please let our staff know that you will be camping in an RV.
~~~ Significant changes for GNE XXXVIII
* New traffic patterns for GNE XXXVIII. In an effort to assist with traffic flow at known bottleneck areas, the majority of Thunder Road will now be one way. We will be extending Ozurr’s Fortune Road (the road that runs parallel to Thunder Road) out to North Lunar Loop Rd and that will be the new entrance point to the camping area and parts toward The Great Beyond/Thunder. It will continue as a one way down to where it connects back onto Thunder Rd and be one way back out to where it intersects with North Lunar Loop Rd. The connecting roads between the newly extended Ozurr’s Fortune Road and Thunder Rd will be alternating one way roads, please take note of the signage. We would request that you use the cross roads cautiously and be courteous to others trying to use the roads and not block them. At approximately the Thunder Camp area (where Ozurr’s Fortune Road reconnects), Thunder Road will become two way again to allow for ingress to and egress from The Great Beyond lot. We will be sure to have good signage up, but please be aware of these changes ahead of time.
* New parking information for GNE XXXVIII - All trailers will need to be parked in The Great Beyond lot, FKA overflow parking out beside Thunder camp. Motorized vehicles only will be allowed in the main lot near gate. You can park just your trailer in The Great Beyond lot and still park your motorized vehicle in the lot near gate if you wish. If you camp on the far end of GNE and wish to park your vehicle in The Great Beyond lot, that’s still ok. Vehicles only will be parked in the row closest to Thunder Road and vehicles with trailers (or trailers that are being left on their own) will be parked in a pull through fashion at a roughly 45 degree angle in the back row further from the road. The roads within the lot will be one way only. Enter, park, out the opposite end. We will mark the first few spaces to assist with keeping things tidy, please be considerate of your parking neighbors when parking your own vehicle/trailer. Please do not park in front of, or otherwise block, a trailer that is not yours under any circumstances. Please also be aware of the areas that will be clearly corded off as they tend to get swampy should the weather be uncooperative (we are doing regular sacrifices for sunny, pleasant and dry!) and avoid them for your own safety. Please also do not create your own parking space. Seek help from a staff member if you have questions or need assistance.
* Our third and final significant change for this GNE XXXVIII is regarding drinking vessels. We will *NOT* be providing drinking vessels at the hydration stations. Please make arrangements to have your own available. All are welcome to partake in the beverages provided at the hydration stations, but using your own vessel will be required.

From all points North and South:
Take your best route to Exit 75 (Auburn) off of I-95, Maine Turnpike.
Take exit 75 toward US-202/ME-4/ME-100/Auburn/Lewiston, 0.4 mi
Use the left lane to turn left onto ME-100 N/ME-4 N/US-202 E/Washington St N, 0.3 mi
Turn left onto E Hardscrabble Rd, 1.0 mi
Turn right onto Hotel Rd, 1.7 mi
Continue onto Manley Rd, 0.8 mi
Turn left onto ME-11 S/ME-121 S/Minot Ave, 4.1 mi
Turn right onto ME-119 N, 6.3 mi
Continue onto ME-124 N, 2.4 mi
Hebron Pines Campground will be on your left.
From Bethel, Berlin, Montpelier, Burlington, Montreal, and similar points West:
Please consult a map to find your best route to pick up Route 26 South west of the towns of Norway and Oxford, Maine. For most folks coming in from Northern New Hampshire and Vermont, you’ll want to cross the Maine/NH border on Route 2 and pick up Route 26 South in Bethel, Maine, but there are other possible routes as well, depending on your starting point.
Follow Route 26 South through the Western Maine towns of Bryant Pond, Paris, Norway, and into the town of Oxford. About two miles after you pass through the business district of the town of Oxford, you’ll come to traffic lights which mark the entrance to a Wal-Mart (on your right). Pass straight through the lights, continuing South on Route 26. 1.8 miles after the Wal-Mart, you’ll pass the Oxford Plains Fun Park on your right, closely followed by Oxford Plains Speedway on your left. About 1.7 miles after the speedway, turn left onto Route 121 North (a Citgo station marks the corner of this intersection, on your left). Follow Route 121 North, into the town of Mechanic Falls. After 4.4 miles, you will arrive at a 4-way intersection with a traffic light.
Turn left at the light (keeping the Cumberland Farms on your left) onto Route 124 North. Follow Route 124 North into the town of Minot. 4.4 miles from the light you will come to a strange intersection, which is marked as the junction of Routes 124 and 119. Turn right at the Yield sign and then immediately left at the T intersection (heading away from the church), staying on Route 124 North.
Continue a further 2.3 miles on Route 124 North, into the town of Hebron. Hebron Pines Campground is clearly marked, on your left.
