As winter turns to spring, their Excellencies Orlando and Charis, Baron and Baroness of Settmour Swamp, invite all to join in the celebration of the Thawing of the Mud!

The site will have an indoor area out of the elements, as well as a large heated tent outdoors for the populace.  A tent and a covered pavilion will be used for marshal activities.  Prepare for any weather, sleet, rain, or sun, as the land awakens.

Tentative Schedule:
9 am:  Gate opens
9:30 am:  List registration opens
10 am:  Morning Royal court
10:30 am:  Armored & Fencing authorizations begin
11:00 am:  Armored Tournaments & Fencing Tournaments begin
12:00 pm:  A&S challenge opens
1:00 pm:  Keepers of Athena's Thimble Meeting
2:00 pm:  Arachne's Web Lace Guild Meeting
2:30 pm:  Baron & Baroness judge the A&S entries (please stay with your entry during this time!)
3:00 pm:  Gate closes
3:30 pm:  All martial activities end
4 pm:  Baronial court
4:30 pm (or immediately after Baronial Court):  Royal court



NOTE TO ALL FIGHTERS AND FENCERS - You must bring proof of Gate check-in (not your site token, a special card will be provided to you at the Gate after you have checked in, make sure the Gate rep knows you are fighting) before you will be allowed to check in at the Lists.  Please be sure that you go to Gate first.  You can have a friend/family sign you in (if you do not need to sign a waiver) but you will not be able to sign into the list until that person provides you the proper documentation.  Please make sure you arrive early enough that you are able to sign into both areas before the fighting begins.

*A&S Display/Challenge*
12:00pm:  Please set up your display at the designated table(s) in the main hall.
2:30pm:  Our Baron & Baroness will choose the winner as much on their art as their studies of other cultures.  Please stay with your items at this time.

“At the Edge of the Known World”

Display a collection of 1–3 items inspired by the Viking Age (8th–11th century) is ideal, but you may also represent another time period or culture embarking on a spring journey if you prefer.  Your entry may represent:
-Something you would bring on a spring voyage
-A craft practiced in a Norse settlement
-Trade goods gathered from distant lands
-An object reflecting daily life, status, faith, or exploration

Entries may be functional, decorative, culinary, textile, woodworking, metalwork, brewing, research-based, or otherwise rooted in the Arts & Sciences of our Society.

There will be a pre-paid reservation only for a boxed lunch - $15 - Limited to the first 200 individuals to sign up.

EK Historian THL Bryan Mac Dhunghaill an Boghadair CSC will have a booth indoors to record stories from the populace.

Know all gentles that when winter loosens its hold upon the high mountains, the folk of the Alpine lands rejoice in the first gifts of spring.  As the mud thaws around us this dayboard draws its inspiration from Switzerland and the surrounding alpine regions, where herds return to pasture, fresh dairy is made anew, and simple, sustaining foods are shared among travelers, farmers, and households alike.

Dandelion Salad:  dandelion leaves, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, spinach, broccoli sprouts, raddish, boiled egg, chives Bread and Butter - Rye bread, herb and honey butters

This is a boxed lunch, not a seated feast.
