Schedule:
Forthcoming

Bardic Competition Format:
Theme of the Event:  Silk Roads:  Shared Bonds Of East and West

There will be two rounds, then the Finals.  You will perform up to three times.  If you are cut after rounds one or two, you may be called up to perform one of your other prepared pieces (as time allows) as between-rounds entertainment for the crowd.

One of your first two pieces must be a documented period piece.  Your documentation need not be extensive - the name, time period, and author/composer are sufficient.  The other piece may be any selection of your choosing.  However, no modern filks in any round, please.

Your Finals piece should match the theme of the event (Silk Roads:  Shared Bonds Of East and West).  One week before the day of the championship, we will update this listing with a specific element you will need to include.  The expectation is that you will make a minor adjustment to an existing plan to incorporate, not that you will create an entirely new plan at that time.  Please do not wait until the last week to research/choose/compose a piece.

You should bring a “bard card.” This is an index card that contains:
Your name
A short version of your “bardic resume”
Your comfort level (low/medium/high) with the following (just list the # and L, M, or H):
1) Called upon in court to perform without a specific piece planned for that
specific moment
2) Wiki editing
3) Composing new pieces
4) Researching and documenting period pieces
5) Voice performance
6) Instrumental performance
