Event details

The Barony of Bhakail invites one and all to our winter home!  Please pull up a chair, tell a story, and raise your cup to another successful season change!  This is Bhakail’s 46th Yule Revel, where all who come in are family!

The kitchens will be humming with activity from Shifu Lu An-Hua and her team, as she is planning a phenomenal day board of Aztec/Mexica/Nahua food!  Please see below for the day board menu.

The SCA does not serve alcohol.  However, the site is wet:  attendees are permitted to responsibly share the fruits of their study of brewing with others.

Table lamps and candles with a flame are not permitted.  Please use battery operated lamps and candles.

The Director’s Room and Library are not allowed to have food or drink in them; please respect our hosts and abstain from bringing any in there.

***A&S Competition:***
The Honorable Lady Cailleach Dhe ingen Chairain requests a fierce competition where artisans from Bhakail and its neighbors recreate, reimagine, or interpret medieval works using historically informed techniques and materials in order to name her successor.
This is not just a competition—it's a display of devotion to historical arts and sciences authenticity, and the flair with which Bhakail is known.

This is your chance to showcase your best project—whether it’s newly completed or the pinnacle of your past efforts.  We request that your project has found its completion within the past two years.

Categories may include any art which is known within our Society.  Examples include Illumination & Calligraphy, Heraldry & Banners (Painted or Embroidered), Woodwork & Carving (Furniture, Boxes, Tools), Metalwork & Armor (Forged or Decorated Pieces), Fiber Arts (Weaving, Embroidery, Garb Construction), Glass work, and much more.  If you are unsure that your art fits this competition, please feel free to email Cailleach.

***Brewing Competition:***
I want to see you stretch.  Don't put up your best styles, put up something *new*.

Haven't brewed before? Let's brew something!

Well known for meads? Do an ale!

Known for modern styles? Put up something medieval!

Brew a lot but never do documentation? We have folks who can help with that!

In addition, anyone who isn't ranked in the EK Brewer's Guild:  get ranked, let me know, get a token :) If you are ranked:  rank up, get a token :) We'll work with the EKBG to try and get some panels in the PA/DE/Southern NJ area to try and help folks out.  (Here's a hint:  if you're not ranked, the first one's _real_ easy...) Jo can help as the Southern Region Warden for the Guild.

*Please no mint.  His Excellency, Mikael Melrakki has an allergy.*
