The site is the Arena at Topsfield Fairground! If you remember the Fall Crown Tournament in 2023, then you'll know the site. This is an indoor turf area with extensive bleachers. The central turf is only for foot traffic, with minimal exceptions. Please note that while this is an indoor arena, it is a metal building in New England in the early winter - warm layers are encouraged. Something soft to sit on is also encouraged.
The bleachers are wheelchair accessible via a ramp, and there is space to park a wheelchair or mobility scooter on the lower level. We also plan to have limited space on the field (using carpets to protect the turf) for people who are mobility impaired and will have trouble getting into the bleachers. If this is you, feel free to bring a chair and sit in that location. Please do not plan on using this space unless you need it, so we have enough space for those who do.

Details on the tournament format are below. Please direct any questions to Donovan and Meghanta.
1) Round Robin: Probably four pools, subject to change based on number of entrants or other concerns. Bring your best, single pass, refight doubles until clean. If necessary, ties will be resolved first by comparing who beat who in the pool, with fight-offs as needed.
2) Sweet 16: Double elimination tree. Bring your best, single pass, refight doubles until clean.
3) Semi-finals: Winner's list vs loser's list. Winner needs one victory to advance to the finals, loser needs two. Bring your best.
4) Finals. These will be best 4 of 7. The first pass will be greatsword, subsequent passes will be rotating non-repeating weapon forms. The loser of the previous pass chooses the form for the next pass. If the combatants reach a 3-3 tie, the combatants will each bring their best form for the final pass. If you are planning on choosing a particularly specific weapon form (Dane axe, 6' spears, something that nobody has thought of) consider bringing a matched set to ensure that your opponent will be able to meet you.
Food and Drink on Site:
The site does not allow outside food inside the arena due to town Board of Health restrictions. They will be operating a snack bar with typical sports stadium food available for purchase, such as muffins, pizza, hot dogs, candy, and sodas starting at 9am. They accept electronic payments through Venmo, but suggest bringing cash as a backup because of possible connectivity issues. They are OK with 'tailgating' if you want to bring your own food and eat it outside. Fighters may bring appropriate snacks and drinks to consume while competing. Attendees may also bring their own water bottles.
No alcohol may be consumed within the facility or visibly in the parking lot, and there is no smoking or vaping in the facility. They ask that food and drinks other than plain water be kept off the turf to protect the field, even if purchased from them. There is ample space outside the turfed area for eating.
Merchants Welcome! There is no additional fee for merchant space, and there is ample space for multiple merchants. We encourage you to reach out to our merchant coordinator for more information.

8:00am: Site opens for event staff and setup
9:00am: Gate opens
10:30am: Lineup for Procession
11:00am: Procession and reading of the rules
12:00pm - 4:00pm: Tournament
5:00pm - 6:00pm: Court
7:00pm: Site closes
Youth Activities:
Youth Point at Crown Tourney will be open 10-3 during the event. Feel free to drop by. Please know that parents / guardians are expected to stay with their youth to help maintain the 2-deep leadership.

Directions:
Take your best route to the Topsfield Fairgrounds.
The site manager said to enter through the gate marked Lot A, then head toward the Arena where D&R has their own parking lot. We will have SCA signs up to guide you to the right place.
When you get to the lot, you can pull up near the entrance to drop off gear if needed. When you park, please park tightly in their lot and heed the direction of our Parking Coordinator. They should have plenty of space to accommodate us if we do, and we'll avoid being charged to overflow into neighboring facilities.
Gate Procedure:
There will be two Gate stations - one for Combatants, Consorts, Marshalls/MoL Staff who are Pre-Registered and one for General Attendees and all those who are not pre-registered. We strongly encourage everyone to pre-register!
Fighters will have a designated space for gear, chairs, etc. near the turfed arena just past Combatants/Consort Gate.
