Event details

The theme we will be using for this year will be the sentiment "We have always been here".  We heartily encourage the incorporation of Pride colors (Rainbow or the pride flag of your choice) with your pageantry.

From the PrideFEST page:
Middletown PrideFEST is the State of Connecticut’s largest pride event held in downtown Middletown, Connecticut, on the first Saturday of June (6/7).  PrideFEST starts at 12 pm and ends at 10 pm.  PrideFEST is an all afternoon street festival that includes family friendly fun and activities for all ages.  PrideFEST consists of the Middletown Pride March, Pride Rally, Pride Showcase Concert, and a Tea Dance.  Vendors and food trucks will be located on Main Street.  Don’t forget to stop by the Middletown Pride Merchandise Tent to purchase your exclusive Middletown Pride swag, sign up for our newsletter, and learn about what we do all year.  PrideFEST draws over 35,000 individuals, 130 vendors, and 80 marching groups from all over New England to downtown Middletown.

UPDATE:
It is recommended to arrive at the event early as parking will likely be abysmal.  Early arrivers can help us establish a presence in Union Park.  (We will need to walk to the other end of Main street to march).
Plan to be at the parade start point between 12-12:30.  Location is at the north end of the parade route on PEASE AVE between North St.  and Stack St.  We are Division 3.  The parade will commence at 1 PM.
The parade ends at Union park (south end of Main St.).  We are hoping to establish a presence in the North East corner of the park – Look for SCAdian-style banners.

We acknowledge that some people may have concerns for personal safety, we agree that your safety is paramount.  We can say from our observations of the 2024 event, that the local Middletown Police, Emergency Services, and Fire Departments are ALL very supportive of this event and maintain a positive high profile at this event.  The vendors and attendees are wonderful.  This should be an amazing day!

We are expecting sub-optimal weather (showers) so plan to bring some covering from the rain.  I wish it could be a beautiful day so we could showcase all the amazing pageantry that makes the Society the amazing experience that it is.  Step out in your spiffiest kit, bring your personal arms and banners for display and plan to have a wonderful day.  Please plan to bring drinks as needed.  There are food and drink vendors available for purchase.

IMPORTANT NOTES:  Consider this a DRY site.  There are establishments on Main Street if you'd like a drink, but nothing may be open in the public areas.  You MAY NOT throw things to attendees.  If you wish to give things away, you must HAND anything to the attendees.  I would ask that participants plan to bring NO weapons to the site.  While they are integral to so much that we study, we want to promote a safe environment for all.

Site Opens: 12:00 PM (Noon) for the parade - north end of Main Street / General assembly and meeting place (same time) at the South end of Main Street
Site Closes: 10:00 PM
