Come join us for:
Brigitte’s Dessert Challenge:
Brigitte has issued her dessert challenge! Entrants should bring a dessert (or desserts, you may enter more than once) to fit into:
Foxes: Foxes know a little about a lot of things. They are also tricksters, so entries in this category with less than authoritative documentation, and perhaps not fit into a particular pre-17th C period.
Hedgehogs: Hedgehogs know a lot about one thing. These entries will be held to a higher degree of scrutiny, and should have full documentation and come from a particular period of the Middle Ages or Renaissance.
Brigitte and her panel of judges will sample all entries, but desserts will be shared by all guests of the event! Questions may be directed to Brigitte. (listed below.)
Dressing the Fox:
For those who like to fabricate fancy finery, a faux fox will be provided along with fabric of all types, and you will get to design persona stories and garb for your furred friend and enter a fashion show at the end of the day. (You may bring your own fabric, etc.) We are asking that, should you desire for your new friend to go home with you, we hope you will make a donation to help defray the cost of plushies. The winner will get a special surprise from the autocrat! (Children must have an adult supervise them in the dressing the fox area.)
CLOTHING MAGNUS VULPES:
Magnus Vulpes loves his finery. Folks are challenged to create new attire for him. For this challenge you may begin work at home with your own material and finish at the event, or create the item totally at the event with your own materials or materials we supply. There will be an accolade for the best outfits! There is a diagram for the Great Fox’s dimensions on the shire’s official web page.
Banner Beauty:
Everyone is challenged to bring a banner which they have made to explicitly commemorate Winter, Foxes, and their joy of the return of Winter Fox.
Nordenhal will be having workshops during their A & S nights if you want to come work on a banner. If you need help or supplies in articulating your idea, you can find these at our A & S workshops as well. (see the official shire page for dates and times.)
Games:
*The Fabulous Fox Farm Foray will bring a thrill to daring participants!
*Pin the tail on the Fox.
*There will be a games area for table top games.
Silent Auction:
To help defray the cost of Dancing Fox, we will be holding a silent auction. If you have items that wish to donate, please feel free to bring them along, with or without a suggested minimum bid attached.
Vending:
There will be some room for vendors at the event. Space will be allocated on a first reserved basis. Please contact the Autocrat to register as a vendor and for more information.
Parking: St. James has its own dedicated parking lot. Please leave spaces closest to the elevator entry for those with disabilities. Spill over parking can be had next door at the Ulster County Office building.
