In the spring as the forests wake up and animals go out of their dens.  Let us go out into the sunshine and make some new friends as well!  Therefore, join us in the shire of Glenn Linn for a Newcomers Schola, a day of Learning, Music, Food and comradery.  There will be multiple classes throughout the day to introduce new persons into the many different aspects that can be found in our community.  Whether you are new to the Society or are an old hat at this, come, Eat, Drink, Teach, Learn, Share, and make some new friends in the North country!
If you have some, bring your feast gear; a mug, spoon, and bowl.  There will be loaner gear available.
Do you love to share what you know? We still have time and the space in the afternoon for 2 or 3 last minute additions and welcome classes in all aspects of the SCA, including organizational, art, science, clothing, music, dance, history, combat, archery, equestrian, heraldry.
The Class schedule is as follows:
10:00 Gate Opens
11:00 Intro to the SCA
Making felt bags (messy class)
Fighting Demo (outside weather permitting)

12:00 Stick Weaving
Sights and Smells of period cookery

12:45-1:30 Dayboard opens

1:30 Beginning Embroidery
Archery basics

2:30 Music, music, music (instruments, sources, and singing)
Beginning Hand sewing

3:30 Basics of using a sewing machine and making a simple Viking tunic
Making a Monks cord

4:30 Simple Renaissance dancing, a little French, a little Italian, a little English

Find your favorite route to I-87 (the Northway) to exit 23.  At the end of the exit ramp, from northbound turn Left, from southbound turn Right.  At the T / traffic light, turn Right onto Rt 9/ Main Street.  The site is 1.3 miles along on the Left

Family cap $40 (plus $10 per non-member adults if applicable)

Dayboard is included in site fee. 
Pre-reg is now closed but don't let that stop you.  Plenty of food planned so come and enjoy.
