Event details

Once upon a time, the Shire of Hartshorn-dale held an event that celebrated knowledge.  It was called Nova Schola and it's happening again!  Please join us for a day of learning, dancing, and fellowship.  We plan to have classes on many subjects from service to A&S, as well as dance and martial activities.  Whether you’re new to the Society or have been around long enough to remember the original Nova Schola, we hope to have something of interest.

****Classes!  ****
The class list so far is below, we are adding more classes all the time.  If you want to teach, please get in touch!!!

Nova Schola will have an Artisans' Village (like an Artisan's Row).  This area will have different village areas set up, each with an Artisan Theme, and anyone is welcome to stop by for as long or as short as they want.  Each table will have experienced artisans who are there to teach, talk, and help build community.  Feel free to stop by with a question, sit at a table and learn something new, or just hang out with artisans' and do some A&S.  Feel free to bring your own projects to work on.
Here is the list of village areas:
Fiber Arts (Weaving, Spinning, Naalbinding, etc):  Headed by Lady Aislinn Ysobel d’Argentan
Embroidery:  Headed by Dame Elizabet Marshall
Metalcrafts (chainmaille and Viking wire weaving):  Headed by Lord Andrew Schickard
Period Games:  Headed by Armiger Faelan Sinnoch

There will be two additional utility areas in the Village.
Garb Doctor:  Headed by Armiger Blue Cunningghame, who will be available to give advice and help gentles alter their garb for the correct fit.

Photo Booth:  There will be a simple photo area setup to allow anyone who is interested to get a picture of themselves in garb.  Photo releases will be on hand, so these images can be used in official SCA publications.  Everyone who gets their photo taken will be emailed the file to use how they wish after the event.

This year Nova Schola will not be offering a dayboard, but we will be providing a variety of snacks and pre-packaged items for folks to enjoy as classes are happening.  Please feel free to bring your own lunch as well.  A full list will be posted soon.  As well we will have a large tea/coffee station and water.
