Site is bone dry!

Sartorial bliss among those who sew, snip, cut.  pin and trim shall fill the day as we embark on the quest to replenish the loaner garb of the Barony of Concordia of the Snows as well as outfitting children whose parental-type-units bring them to chose fabric and make an outfit.

The first track – Loaner Gear for Concordia.

The goal is to make uniform garb in Concordia colors.

Base color is the bright blue (Making new folks easier to spot!) but collar cuffs and trim, etc may vary.

Items to be made:
Tunic:   Basic tunic with short sleeves.  Sized for adults,  at least sizes Large, 2X and 4X, more if we have lots of game sewers!

Tunics are unisex, and will be varied by:

Puff pants, under-tunic, panel skirt or under-dress to personalize.

Patterns with tunic lay out in cut/size will be provided.

If it gets cold...

Hoods:    We also have dark blue fabric with which to make hoods/mantled hoods.

Cloaks:  Polar fleece will be utilized for cloaks.

NB:  If you feel like, "That's boring"  and want to make something different, please remember that the goal here is easy to identify loaner gear.  You may however color outside the lines as long as you bring your own fabric and it reflects the main loaner garb color.  (DMC match 995, 996 or close to these.)

We have five loaner sewing machines.  (They work!)   First come, first served.

If you don’t want to share pigs in a poke you may wish to bring:
Chalk
Pins
Iron
Rolley Cutter
Straight-edge
Cutting Mat    We have a couple of loaner mats, but they are small.
Fray Check
Fabric Scissors
Threads:   Bright blue, Navy blue,  White and Pale Yellow

If you have spare lacing, drawstring at home? Bring it!
You might also wish to bring aiglets or appropriately sized elastic if you have spare.

Questions? Email Seraq:  8043@members.eastkingdom.org

NB:  Clothing shall also be provided with populace badges made by Carrick MacSeáin.

The second track – Make and Take Garb for kids:

Have a kid in your life who needs garb? Come bring them and together you can make a basic piece of garb for them to wear.

Options for choice of garment:

Viking apron dress

Tee tunic:  straight or aline

Drawstring/elastic waist skirt.

Under tunic/Chemise

Chiton

Reverse facing necks and standard facing necks will be discussed.

Some fabric will be available on a first come first served basis, but if you have fabric already in hand? Feel free to have it washed and bring it along!

Any questions? Ask the Track Leader, Rowan Orr.  Rowan.orr.sca@gmail.com

A children’s embroidery class will be offered by Maestra Frigga, teaching a simple trim stitching for their garb.  Times TBA at the event.

Destashing – There will be a place to bring all that fabric/thread/trim that you once had plans for, but now need to shed.  Bring your flotsam to be utilized during the event.  Any destash not claimed for use during the day (exact time to be determined) will be rehomed.  A donation can be made here to help defray the cost of the event/dayboard.

If you can sew, please come help us!  You need only have basic skills to help, there will be skilled sewers as well who would love someone to help pin/cut/etcetera.

Don’t sew? Gophers, tryers-on, helpers, musicians, wranglers, bards and clean up helpers are always welcomed.

Dayboard will be provided by Brigitte and crew.  Persons with food allergies should contact Brigitte no later than 15 November.
