Black Gryphon Inn

The Tudor Inn became a center for travelers and pilgrims alike when the
monasteries of the 15th century stopped giving room and board.  As a result a new
kind of cultural center arose.  Tudor Inns (like this years Black Gryphon Inn)
became centers for games of chance and gave a place for minstrels and troubadours
to provide entertainment.  As the first theaters were yet to be built, these inns also
became the first home to traveling troupes of actors, as plays began to be staged in
the courtyards providing a new form of entertainment and new revenue for
innkeepers.  Thus it is that this year the Black Gryphon Inn will again live up to it’s
name and provide a home for travelers and place to enjoy good food and exciting
entertainment for her guests.

- All our guests will enjoy a variety of period style “pub” games arranged on
every table with brief descriptions of how to play.  These will range from
chess to card games to SCA favorites like Nine Men's Morris
- Music in the Inn.  Whether provided by the “Bard in the Box” or by live acts
- A special performance by an Acting Troupe as we transition from Dinner to
a light dessert
- A Feast of Pub Classics served at your table
- The Canton of Gryphonwald’s A&S tournament
- A Brewers Competition
- The Bardic Competition for the new Barony Bardic Champion
- A Kubb Tournament
- And a light Day Board prior to the Feast
