Event details

When the snow flurries of the North whip their way over the East, almost everything stops.  People hole up against the
wind, cold and snow.  Warriors put up weapons and repair their armor.  Such is the way of life.
But wait!  One tiny Barony in the center of the Kingdom holds out against the Winter, personified as the dreaded Weasel
of Ice!  No matter the wind, no matter the cold, no matter the snow, the Barony of Smoking Rocks has held it's infamous
Ice Weasel Bear Pit Tournament for sixteen years!  While other Tournaments have moved the list field indoors, or rescheduled in the Spring, Smoking Rocks hasn't learned!!  So join us for ICE WEASEL 17:  THE EDGE OF 17...DEGREES!

Test thy mettle and skills in our annual Outdoor Ice Weasel Bear Pit tournament (heavy list).  Do you have what it takes to compete in a bear pit outdoors in the snow and ice?!  Come and see what challenges the Ice Weasel holds? There will be a fine prize for the Champion of the day and a prize for best Novice (under two years in armor)

Apart from an opportunity to add your name to the list of heroes who have prevailed before against both the Ice Weasel and
other stalwart opponents, Want to be a Baronial Champ? We are holding our Lord Protector of the Barony Tourney that day.  It is an open tourney so you don't have to reside in the Barony to be the Champion!

Also for the first time we are adding a Combat archers challenge!  Come be the first to win it!
A box shoot, a shooting gallery, and an obstacle list of single and two combat archers is planned.

Too cold for your constitution? There will be a fire outside and warmth inside for classes and company.

We also plan a day of classes, both outside and in the hall, and maybe even possibly by the
forge!  Learn new skills!  Make new friends!  Who knows?
Planned classes are:

0:00 am.  Cooking over the open fire - Would you like to start cooking over fire? Don’t quite know where to begin? We will go over the fundamental points of starting a fire and making food warm.
10:00 am.  A simple spiral Ring how to make and where they were found.
11:00 am.  Bacton Altar Cloth - A presentation about the Bacton Altar cloth and learning how to do several of the Stitches.  Kits ($3) will be available.
Noon Gift swap
1:00 pm.  Athena’s Thimble Panel - The embroiderer’s guild of the East Kingdom is going to hold a panel.  Come join us if you have any pieces of embroidery you would like to panel, or just find out more about the guild.
2:00 pm.  Forestry identification - a beginners class about the classes of trees, their identification, and the types of local forests.  We will be walking out to the woods behind the hall so bring warm clothes and footwear.
3:00 pm.  Cross stitch – An easy and quick style of embroidery.  Kit will be provided.
4:30 court
