Bloodfeud In The Danelaw: A Viking Age Immersion Event

This is an immersive Viking age event. We will be doing everything possible to make this feel like we are in 880 AD. It is our hope and desire for all who attend to make an effort to be in that era while still having fun. The town has Danes, Norse, Swedes, and Anglo-Saxons. Franks/Normans, Scots, Picts, Gaels are less common. Moors/Berbers and Saracens are uncommon but could be there. Garb is encouraged to be Viking age and look the part at a 10-foot distance. Viking age tents will be located closer to the main areas to help with the feel while other period tents further back and non-period tent behind that.
The focus of the event will be the Bloodfeud between the Jarls. There will be melee scenarios all day to help each Jarl gain wordfame and ultimately their revenge. The fighting has a specific rule-set, and guidelines that are different than regular SCA combat, and I would urge any who are interestedWe have set up rules for an armor as worn Viking age combat with period armor and weapon standards that will be enforced for the scenario. There will also be a period archery shoot, thrown weapons, equestrian and bardic that will fill out the days activities and contribute to each sides renown, as well as a filling period feast .
Fire, feasting, fighting, archery, children\\\'s activities and other frivolities! People-friendly pets on leashes at all times allowed (no pets in the INNE, please) Children welcome in the Inne with accompanying adults. There is a feast on Saturday evening ,seating for first 75.

Site Opens: 4pm Friday: Troll runs from Friday 4pm to 10 pm and Saturday 9am to 12pm
Site Closes: 12 noon on Sunday

Merchants! We need you to add to the rich, immersive atmosphere of this event! Your assistance will provide those in attendance with the experience of a true Market day!
1)Merchants will be Juried and limited between 8-10 merchants. All items must be directly or indirectly related to Norse or Early Medieval English (Anglo-Saxon) Culture as much as possible. No items clearly post-Norman Conquest.

3) Cash is King! With cell signal being incredibly spotty or non-existent we ask that merchants be ready with enough cash and change on-hand. We will also ask all attendants to prepare for this. In case of currency not being feasible for some, work out an appropriate invoicing function that can be done post-event.
4) Barter is highly encouraged! Not only will this add to the immersive aspect of the event but it might also help in cases where actual currency is not feasible. This, of course, is at the discretion of each merchant.
5) Advertise your attendance and your methods of accepted payments well ahead of time so that people can prepare accordingly.
6) All forms must be received no later than midnight, August 15. Merchants accepted will be notified no later than August 20, 2023.
