COVID-19 Statement

The East Kingdom and the event staff are committed to making sure that our friends & families stay safe. Kingdom guidelines for COVID safety change often. Masks that conform to CDC standards and worn properly over the nose and mouth are required of all attendees over the age of 2 in all indoor spaces or in public tents or pop-ups with 3 or 4 walls up and may only be lowered briefly for eating or drinking. Masks are optional when outdoors and we encourage frequent handwashing and social distancing. Please take whatever steps you feel are necessary for your own sense of safety beyond the stated mandates.

All persons over the age of 5 are now required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event. All persons over the age of 18 must also present government issued photo ID or a valid SCA membership card. Please have these in hand when checking in.

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.

Event details

The Medieval Festival at the Cloisters is the SCA's largest demo opportunity of the year — with over fifty thousand people visiting the site, it's a great chance to show off all of the things we do in the SCA, and we'd love your help sharing our passion with the public.

Fighters are invited to enter our tournaments for armored combat, fencing, and youth combat, all before cheering crowds of onlookers.

Artists and craftsmen and bardic are welcome to exhibit their work and demonstrate their skills to a rapt audience curious about history.

Chatelaines and other volunteers are needed to speak with the public and explain the Society and how they can get involved.

If you wish to participate in any of the activities above, or simply wish to come and have fun with us, please contact the event steward!

This is an outdoor event open to the public, with a large list field for fighters (protected by a tall fence), spacious pavilions for exhibitors (roped off from spectators), and plenty of "backstage" space for people to garb up, unwind, and enjoy the potluck dayboard.

Site Opens: 11:00 am (Setup begins at 9:00 am)
Site Closes: 6:00 pm (followed by teardown)
