COVID-19 Statement

The East Kingdom and the event staff are committed to making sure that our friends & families stay safe. Kingdom guidelines for COVID safety change often. Masks that conform to CDC standards and worn properly over the nose and mouth are required of all attendees over the age of 2 in all indoor spaces or in public tents or pop-ups with 3 or 4 walls up and may only be lowered briefly for eating or drinking. Masks are optional when outdoors and we encourage frequent handwashing and social distancing. Please take whatever steps you feel are necessary for your own sense of safety beyond the stated mandates.

All persons over the age of 5 are now required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event. All persons over the age of 18 must also present government issued photo ID or a valid SCA membership card. Please have these in hand when checking in.

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.

Event details

Their Excellencies Iron Bog, Declan and Aibhilin:

Greetings unto our populace and our neighbors near and far,

It has been nearly 3 years since our last Baronial Championships were able to be held.  The Champions have stood tall and proud while defending our lands.  However, the time has come for them to step down while passing on their regalia to Our next Champions.  We hereby invite all Fencers and Fighters to joy us for the day to demonstrate your martial prowess and honor.  For those combatants whose homeland touches the Iron Bog borders will be eligible to become Our new Baronial Rapier and Rattan Champion.

This grand tournament will be held in Cooper River Park on the Veterians Island behind the LaScala's Birra Resturant (5300 N Park Dr, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109).  For those who are not competing; We hope you will join us for a day of socializing and cheering on the combatants

Yours in Service,

Declan and Aibhilin
Baron and Baroness of Iron Bog

HEALTH INFO :::

Vaccine/ Testing Requirements:
The East Kingdom requires that all attendees ages 5 and up at all in-person gatherings show proof of either full vaccination against COVID-19 or a medically supervised negative COVID test taken within 72hours of the event.  Proof of vaccination or a negative test shall not be required for children under 5.  Attendees aged 18 or older will have to show government-issued ID or SCA blue membership card matching test results or vaccination proof to gain entry to the event.

Masking:
Masks are no longer required at outdoor events, including martial activities.  However, masks are still required for indoor gathering.  Please note that this includes folks gathering in a public tent / pop-up / pavilion with 3 or 4 walls.  The air flow with 3 or 4 walls up is insufficient to be safely unmasked.  Masks may be lowered briefly while actively eating or drinking.
Of course, many will wish to continue to wear masks, and we respect that choice.  Everyone must take the steps necessary for their own sense of safety at our activities.
