Event details

The Barony of the Bridge celebrates another year of prosperity and we invite all to come together in health and happiness to celebrate!  The day will be filled with many wonderful things!

A competition will be held to select our next Baronial Bardic Champion.  The format for this competition will be simple.  Each entrant should prepare one piece, of their choosing, to share with the Populous.  The entrant may select the theme or style to suit their fancy.  Don't forget this Bardic Champion will compete for the honor of our fine Barony at the 1st War of the Pearls this June!

There will also be the traditional Bridge Birthday Brewing Competition.  Entries will be “sampled” and winners selected in the traditional way.

There is space for live Alquerques and this will be played before dinner.

Bring your finest table setting, as there will be a friendly contest for the best dressed table.  Linens, dishes, candles, elaborate centerpieces, the options are endless.  Bonus point for attempts at period accuracy.  Together we can dress the hall to be fit for our Birthday celebration!

Dayboard and dinner will both be potluck.  Please bring something to share for each.  Dayboard will be set out as the populace arrives.  Dinner will take place at 6pm, or whenever we finish Alquerques.  Please plan food accordingly.  There is a kitchen with refrigerator, ovens, and outlets for crockpots.  Please bring serving utensils for your dishes.  This site is wet.

Other activities are subject to the whim of the participants.  Dancing is encouraged after dinner.
Bring your games and music or an A&S project to keep you occupied while you visit with friends, old and new.

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events.  By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks.  You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.  Hand Sanitizer will be available.  White cotton gloves will be available for anyone interested in dancing, or feel free to bring your own.

Please note that the COVIDsafe Policy will be strictly followed.  The East Kingdom and the Barony of the Bridge staff are committed to making sure that our friends & families stay safe.  All attendees over the age of 2, including vaccinated individuals, at indoor activities will be required to be masked at all times.  Masks may be lowered briefly when eating or drinking.  The mask must be worn properly over the nose and mouth and be recognizable as an effective mask by the CDC.  Musicians who play wind or brass instruments may use a special mask with a split in it for the mouthpiece and a covering over the bell, flutes may use a mouthpiece shield.  Singers and storytellers need to wear masks as well.
