The days grow shorter and it is time to gather jovially with friends and catch up on the year gone by.  As usual there will be delicious food, games (even some new ones), and plenty of time for comfortable conversation.  Bring any projects you've been working on, sit relax and enjoy each others company.  As has become our tradition, a bardic competition will be held during the day to choose Concordia's new Bardic Champion.  The afternoon will include a silent auction.  Bring along any SCA appropriate items you wish to donate.  Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Barony of Concordia Fire Recovery Drive.  Due to the ongoing pandemic masks will be required, except when eating and social distancing is recommended. 

The day will end with Baronial Court and a feast.

Greetings bards, scops, minstrels, and all others who perform and create:
Their Excellencies Concordia will soon be seeking a new Bardic Champion.  Their previous champion sadly passed away in the office, so they have asked me to help spread the word of the competition to choose his successor. 
Where & When:  The Competition will be a part of Concordia's annual Bjorn's Ceilidh event.  As of right now, that event will be in person in November, though the plague could change things.  That said, Her Excellency Maria has said that they will consider etherial participation on a case by case basis. 
Do I Have to Reside in Concordia of the Snows?: 
No, my friends, you do not have to reside in Concordia of the Snows!  However, agreeing to serve as champion has some responsibilities to the barony.  All competitors are encouraged to consider whether to the best of their knowledge, they will be able to fulfill the duties of the office. 
Duties of Office:  If you are selected as Bardic Champion, you will be expected to: 
1.  Attend War of the Roses, where you will run a bardic competition or circle for the event. 
2.  Create and perform a new piece for Their Excellencies and/or Concordia. 
3.  Plan and run the Championship for your own successor. 
Competition Format: 
This is a three round competition.  The first round must be a piece that celebrates life.  The second round should be a piece that you have never performed before.  The final round will be announced once Their Excellencies have selected finalists that day.

From I-90 (NYS Thruway): 
--Take Exit 25 (Schenectady, I-890). 
--Proceed on I-890 to Exit 4C (Scotia). 
--Continue to traffic light, where you will turn left. 
--Continue over the long bridge and past Route 50. 
--Turn right onto North Ten Broeck Ave.  (Mohawk Tap Room and Stewart's on corner). 
The church is beige on the left at the second intersection (Catherine Street crossing).
Parking lot just beyond church and on street parking as well.

Feast registration must be postmarked by October 28 to guarantee a seat.
Max attendance for feast - 72.  Pre-registration for feast is strongly encouraged.  Seats will be sold at the door only to fill partial tables.
