COVID-19 Statement

The East Kingdom and the event staff are committed to making sure that our friends & families stay safe. Kingdom guidelines for COVID safety change often. Masks that conform to CDC standards and worn properly over the nose and mouth are required of all attendees over the age of 2 in all indoor spaces or in public tents or pop-ups with 3 or 4 walls up and may only be lowered briefly for eating or drinking. Masks are optional when outdoors and we encourage frequent handwashing and social distancing. Please take whatever steps you feel are necessary for your own sense of safety beyond the stated mandates.

All persons over the age of 5 are now required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event. All persons over the age of 18 must also present government issued photo ID or a valid SCA membership card. Please have these in hand when checking in.

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.

Event details

Come one!  Come all!  The Lakewood Ren-Faire is back for it's 41st anniversary!

All the following information is, of course, dependent on the SCA, Federal, State, and Local rules at the time.  However, things are looking like they will be similar to prior years.  Please check for the most current SCA covid policies.  They will be the ones we will be following.

There will be fighting.  There will be fencing.  There will be archery.  There will be a 10 AM parade both days to show off our finery to the public.  This is outdoors and open to the public from 10 AM to 6 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday.

A rose tourney is planned for Saturday and Sunday at 2PM.  Please contact the Baronial Knight Marshal at for details.

NOTE:  There has been significant construction on the Parkway & exits may be changed.
From the North:  Take your best route to the Garden State Parkway southbound.  Take Exit 91 and stay to the right on the exit ramp, towards Brick/Lakewood.  Continue straight through the first light, and at the second light, turn right onto Route 526 west (Lanes Mill Road).  **Continue on this road to Route 9 (Exxon Station and Diner on corners), cross over (it becomes West County Line Road at this point) and ***after approx.  1 mile you will see a golf course on your left, get into the left lane.  Take the first left and follow the chain link fence to the first gate.  Turn right into the gate and follow the road to the site.

From the South:  Best route to the Garden State Parkway northbound.  Take Exit 90 and make the u-turn at the first light.  Follow to the third traffic light, and make a left onto Route 526 (Lanes Mill Road).  Continue from **above.

From East/West or NJ Turnpike:  Best route to Interstate I-195 to Route 9 South (Exit 28).  Continue for approx.  4 miles into Lakewood and turn right onto Route 526 (West County Line Road) at the Exxon station (if you pass the cemetery on the left you have gone too far).  Continue from *** above.

Registration Fees

There are no fees through the SCA this year.  (Merchants must contact the Lion's Club if they wish to vend at the event.)

There is no feast.

The COVIDSafe sign in will be at the SCA booth down by the fighting field.  You will not be permitted into the SCA area (Fighting field/island area) if you are not signed in with proof of vaccination and/or negative covid test.
