Have you always wanted to be the Head Chef, Kitchener or Feastocrat of an event? Well then come join the Barony of Concordia of the Snows for our first Veisla Schola. A day dedicated to learning the arts and skills of the Kitchener.
Veisla Schola will be held on 17 October 2020 at the Scotia United Methodist Church in Scotia, NY. The Schola will feature classes on food safety, role of the chef, menu development (feast, dayboard and vigil), budgeting, how to run a kitchen, recipe redaction, and scaling recipes, period cookbooks and resources - feel free to bring your books, knife skills and knife care - bring your knives.
The site has a small home style kitchen as well as a larger professional kitchen where we plan on holding hands-on cooking and baking classes. We also have classrooms and lunch tables available to hold classes. The event will end at 6pm.
Classes for the Schola are being coordinated by Lord John Kelton. If you are interested in offering a class for the schola, please contact him at: afisher@nycap.rr.com.
