May-Be (I'll Try Something New)

Hosted by Barony of Iron Bog - Moorestown, NJ

Event date: May 9th, 2020

Event Last Modified: December 3rd, 2019

Event details

Oye, Oye!!  Their Excellencies, Baron Declan Gobha and Baroness Aibhilin inghean Ui Phaidin, have declared that they will continue the tradition of inviting all good gentles to the Barony's annual May Day in order to try something new and help select the new Baronial Rattan and Rapier Champions.  And once again, to ease the financial burden on those interested in attending, they have proclaimed that there will be neither a site fee nor a charge for the dayboard.

A variety of Arts & Sciences and Martial activities, with teachers, materials, and loaner gear, will be available for folks to try out.  More information about these activities will be posted as it becomes available.  If you are an artisan who would like to demonstrate and teach as part of this special day, please contact the A&S Coordinator, Baroness Drueta de la Rosa (see below).

The excitement of the day will be further expanded by the Barony's Rapier and Rattan Tournaments being held to decide the next Baronial Champions.  The champions must live in Iron Bog or a landed group that touches its borders (i.e.  Bhakail, Carillion, Barren Sands, Caer Adamant, and Buckland Cross).  If you do not reside in one of these groups, you can still enter the tournament and make sure the new champion deserves the honor.  Details on the tournament formats will be forthcoming.

Please note that the site is completely dry (absolutely no alcohol on the premises), and no animals other than service dogs are allowed.

Site Opens: 10 AM
Site Closes: 6 PM
