Event details

To all Good Gentles whose residences border the fair land of Bhakail, do we send greetings.  Baron Rowen and Baroness Suba are in search of new marshal champions and to that end will host tournaments in the waning days of August.  In addition to fighting, Their Excellencies will be hosting a Commons with a pot luck, children's activities, and songs and stories.  Feel free to bring your Arts and Sciences activities for a fun-filled day.

The timeline for the day per Their Excellencies Bhaikail is as follows
10am - Site opens
10am - Rapier inspections begin
11am-2pm - Children’s Activities
11am - Bhakail Rapier Champions Tourney begins.  HHD Rapier Champions follows
11am - Armored inspections begin
Noon - Combined Bhakail and HHD Armored Champions Tourney begins
3:30pm - Order of the Horse meeting
3:45pm - Order of the Salamander meeting
4:30pm - Baronial Court begins
6pm - Site closes

Heavy Tournament:
To the Heavy Fighters of the Southern Region, do we, Bhakail's current rattan champion and rattan Lady's champion, issue a challenge.  Come out and fight us!  No challenge will be too fun!  No challenge will be too silly!  Dizzy sword, left-handed dagger, hold-the-rope, ox hide -- we will take them all.  We'll be fighting a round robin in whatever style you choose.

The finals will be best of five, but two rounds will require the help of Bhakail's lovely and dangerous Baroness, Suba.

Intrigued? Then join us for a day of fighting and merriment.

Inspections will start at 11:00 and fighting will begin at 12:00 and will go until a winner is declared.

Rapier Tournament:
You enter a clearing.  To the west you see only forest.  To the east you see a small pavilion with a finely-dressed woman seated at a table.  To the south, you see a slow-moving river strewn with rocks.  Standing upon of of the rocks is a well-dressed figure with a sword who appears to want to duel.

Will you enter Bhakail's Rapier Champion tournament to find out what happens next?

Inspections will start at 10:00 and fighting will begin at 11:00 and will go until a winner is declared.

In addition, the fair Shire of Hartshorn-dale will search for their Shire Champions, both Rapier and Armored, during Champions and Commons.  Fighters living in lands contiguous to Hartshorn-dale and willing to service as champion will be eligible.

Potluck information:
The barony will be supplying charcoal and will have someone attending the fire for anyone who wishes to bring items to be grilled.  There will also be coolers with water available.  Please bring your own feast gear.

Please contact our Potluck Coordinator, Lord Bryan, and let him know what you are bringing or if you need a suggestion of what to bring.

We will be offering Youth activities this year, so children are welcome and encouraged to come.  For more details regarding planned activities, please contact Bhakail's Chancellor Minor, Lady Roseia Poseia.

As this is a state park alcohol is prohibited.  Dogs are permitted in the park as long as they are leashed.  The site is not ADA accessible.  The Picnic Pavilion is a few feet down a short hill, and the tourney field is a large, open, athletic field which is mostly flat.  More information can be found at

Garb is encouraged but not required, being a low-key, free event, though it pleases Their Excellencies to see pageantry on display in the park.
