Picnic in the Ruins

Hosted by Crown Province of Østgarðr - Brooklyn, NY

Event date: April 29th, 2017

Event details

Wondrous is this wall-stead, wasted by fate.
Battlements broken, giant’s work shattered.

Come to the green and lush Canton of Brokenbridge for a picnic on a fair summer’s day.  We shall eat, drink, be merry, and contemplate the passing of greatness under a Renaissance peristyle.  Spontaneous storytelling may break out, as may diverse handcrafts and learned conversation.  There will be music, dancing, and lawn games.

We ask all who attend to bring a dish to share.

The Pavilion is roofed, but open-columned; in other words, safe from rain, but perhaps not from wind and storm.  There is no private place to dress, except in park comfort facilities a few minutes’ walk away.  Choose your clothing accordingly.

The site is dry.  No alcohol is permitted in city parks.
Smoking is not allowed on site, or in any city park.  However, smoking is permitted on the street a few moments’ walk away.
Dogs are permitted, but must be leashed on a 6 foot or shorter leash.  Please consider how your dog will behave during the event, and how they will affect others.

Site Opens:  12:00 PM
Site Closes:  5:00 PM
