Event details
This event will also be a Royal Progress and an Investiture of our Baronials elect - Ulric & Clothilde von der Insel
As the sheets of ice melt, and the days warm, there is celebration throughout the land. The reflection in the glassy sheets distorts the reality that is, and all is not what it seems.
This year the Black Rose Ball celebrates its thirty-ninth year with a trip Through the Looking Glass, where the Noble-born are able to be lowly; the lowly as high-born; the males as females, or the other way round.
Lord Maurin has planned an entertaining list of dances that will entice the most experienced or novice dancer alike. There will be dance instruction throughout the day to familiarize attendees with the dances to be performed at the ball.
The Waytes of Carolingia will bring their skill with wind and string to delight the dancers.
Mistress Fiona O’Maille will lead the culinary talents in the kitchen, and her skilled staff will prepare a repast that is fit for Royalty. This wonderful feast will fortify the body for the events of the evening.
For this feast, we will be limiting seating to 100 guests, so reservations will be required.
This feast will feature the Court of His Excellency, Baron Eloi, which will precede the ball, so don’t be late.
Music and dance, food and drink, good friends and hearty laughter, and all things that may not be what they appear await you in the Barony of the Bridge. Join us for this most venerable of balls, the longest continuously held dance event in the known world!

A&S Challenge:
To all who are masters of creation and deception, here is a challenge for you. Create an ensemble for the Ball that is not what it appears to be. The rules are fairly simple, from a distance of 50 ft, the ensemble must appear to be period appropriate. From a distance of 10 ft, the patterns, design or other camouflage that you have created is revealed. There will be a prize awarded for the Best of the Ball. Questions can be sent to Fiónán at CTActor26@aol.com
