Market Day at Birka

Their Excellencies, Baron Dorio of the Oaks and Baronessa Jocelyn del Espada have prepared the following activities to amuse their guests: a large indoor market with nearly a hundred merchants, a fashion show, an A&S display, classes, dancing, and martial activities including a heavy list bear pit tourney, fencing and youth combat. Their Majesties of the East will also be holding Royal Court. Prior to Royal Court, their Excellencies will be holding a Baronial Court.

Information regarding Minors:
Parents and Guardians should be aware that areas of the event site are open to the public. There are many exits from the building, along with the numerous hotel rooms. Please be mindful of where your children are at ALL times. The event site does not have Code Adam.
Merchant Pre-Registrations & Applications: Merchants are an important part of our event and we welcome you. You must apply to be a merchant. All information will be published on our website: http://www.birka.org
Volunteering for Birka: An event of this size requires a great deal of work, so any gentles interested in helping are encouraged to contact the autocrat in advance or refer to the event web site for additional information. We're in special need of volunteers to work gate and security.

Martial Activities: There will be both indoor fighting and fencing. The fighting will be in the usual bear-pit style with prizes awarded to the top scoring gentles in both belted and unbelted categories. To volunteer as a marshal or MOL please contact Lord Eben Hadrada at marshal@birka.org

Directions:
For those driving: Find your way to Route 293 in Manchester NH.
Heading North, take Exit 5 and turn right onto Granite Street. Go through two lights and the hotel garage will be on the left.
Heading South, take exit 6. The exit will circle around and over the Amoskeag Bridge. Stay right, take first exit (Canal Street). Follow Canal Street for about 1 mile (8 lights) to Granite Street. Bus Terminal is on your left. Turn left onto Granite Street. Hotel garage is on the left.

**Remember Adults who cannot prove membership are required to pay the additional $5 Non-Member Surcharge. No refunds after 2 weeks before the event

Feast:
There is no spoon.
Because there is no Feast. However, there are several concession stands run by the Hotel. Please note that vending machines run out of beverage quickly, please plan accordingly. There are several amazing restaurants within walking distance of the event site. Please see the Restaurant Guide found at Information Point.
