Once again, the Barony of Stonemarche is excited to host the games of the Palio di Stonemarche.  The rival Contrade of Stonemarche are each out to prove their superiority.  In order to prevent these rivalries from becoming outright warfare we have, in the fashion of the Italians, declared a Palio Event comprising of several challenges from which a winning Contrada shall be determined and be awarded the Palio banner.  Come join us in the games and delightful festivities that shall ensue.  We promise that you will not be disappointed!

For individuals bringing minors other than their own children, please remember to bring a completed parental permission form.  

This is a CARRY-IN CARRY-OUT event!  Please, remember to bring garbage bags to take home wastes and recycling. 

Join us on Friday evening for a Palio Pre-Revel!  Learn about the Palio events and meet your Contrade Captains!  Join the candle procession!

FOOD SERVICES
To keep everyone’s energy up for the games, there will be a sumptuous lunch buffet provided on Saturday to all who attend the event.  Please contact Lady Fionnghualla inghen Mhic Cailleagh at Inguza_esa@yahoo.com with any dietary concerns.
There will be no dinnertime meal provided, though there will be time after the day’s games for attendees to cook in their camps or visit one of the local eateries.

*Participants bringing horses MUST provide a current Coggins test for all horses attending, and for all horses coming from outside New Hampshire a 30-day interstate health certificate must be provided, per SCA regulations.  Paperwork will be checked prior to unloading.*

GOLDEN SWORD
The traditional Stonemarche Golden Sword Tourney will be held on Sunday morning.  This tourney is open to novice fighters with less than one year of experience that have not fought at Pennsic.  Experienced fighters are welcome to participate in evaluating and testing the novice fighters.  Contact the Knight Marshal Lord Eben Hardrada for more info at:  hardrada11@aol.com 

GOLDEN FOIL
The Golden Foil Tourney be held on Sunday morning and is for all novice fencers with less than one year of experience that have not fought at Pennsic.  For details please contact Lord Cedric of the Floppy Hat at:  Trislave3@yahoo.com

ARCHERY

THROWN WEAPONS

ARTS AND SCIENCES
Everyone is invited to display their A&S projects for the Palio A&S competition on Saturday.  NO DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED!  Populace choice will determine which Contrada wins the day!  All project types accepted (food entries must include ingredients list) Set-up at 9:00 a.m., voting starts at 10:00 a.m.  with breakdown promptly at 2:30 p.m.  For more information contact Lady Cecily Windham at Ln_dragonsong@yahoo.com

On Sunday morning there will be time to run classes or host round tables.  If you would like to teach a class, contact Lady Cecily Windham

PLANT SWAP
Baronessa Maria Pagani will host a Plant Swap on Saturday morning.  This is a FREE exchange of seedlings, plants and seeds for gardeners of all types (flowers, vegetables, herbs, etc.) All plant life welcome.

YARD SALE
Lady Elvira Violante Ballesteros will be hosting an SCA Yard Sale on Saturday.  Contact her at:  elvirablackhart@gmail.com

Update for Palio Site 2015
The site is discreetly damp.  Alcohol is to be kept at personal encampments.  Under our agreement with the site we cannot allow alcohol to be publicly displayed or shared in the public areas.  You may still bring your own and share at encampments.  If you have your own drink in your own period cup, we will assume it is following these rules unless you give us a reason to question otherwise.

Directions:

The site is at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds, located west of Concord, New Hampshire in Contoocook.  We are about 15-20 minutes drive time from Concord, 40-45 minutes from Manchester or Laconia and about 90 minutes from Boston.  Take I-93 to I-89.  Drive up I-89 and get off at Exit 7.  This is the easiest and quickest route to the fairgrounds.  Turn right at the end of the ramp, make your first immediate right.  Site will be a couple of miles down on your left.  Follow the signs to the fairgrounds.
