Peerage
Order of the Pelican
Companions of Order of the Pelican are those whose service has made a great difference to the SCA. Companions include those who have run Society-wide publications, organized our largest events, held kingdom offices, and managed complicated finances. First awarded October 22, AS 7.
Order of the Laurel
Companions of the Order of the Laurel are craftsmen and artisans recognized for their research and skill in crafts practiced during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and their willingness to teach those skills to others. First awarded January 6, AS 2 by William the Silent.
Order of Chivalry
Companions of the Order of Chivalry are Knights and Masters-at-Arms, fighters who have achieved great skill on the tourney field and are considered by the other members of the Chivalry to be models of prowess, chivalry, and honor. First awarded January 6, AS 2 by William the Silent.
Order of Defense
Companions of the Order of Defense are fencers who have achieved great skill on the rapier field and are considered by the other members of the Master of Defense to be models of prowess, resilience, and honor. First awarded May 2, AS L by Darius Aurelius Serpentius, called Omega and Etheldreda.
Order of the Rose
Roses are those who served their kingdom by ruling as Queen or Consort.
In many kingdoms, the Order of the Rose is also a Peerage-level award, and it is likewise recognized across the kingdoms of the SCA.

Orders of High Merit
There are seven Orders of High Merit in the East Kingdom, and their recipients are known as Companions of their respective Orders. Induction into an Order of High Merit will be accompanied by a Grant an Award of Arms for recipients who do not already have a Grant or a Patent of Arms.
The Order of the Silver Crescent
The Order of the Silver Crescent may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by service to the Kingdom, whether by long service within one of the areas of the Kingdom whereby the entire Kingdom is held to benefit, or by continuing service in ways which directly benefit a large portion of the Kingdom. First awarded June 13, A.S. 6 by Akbar III and Khadijah III.
The Order of the Maunche
The Order of the Maunche may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by service to the arts and sciences, whether by attaining a standard of excellence as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom or by attempting more than one art form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several. Established October 9, A.S. 11 by Laeghaire and Ysabeau II.
The Order of the Tygers Combatant
The Order of the Tygers Combatant may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by prowess at arms, whether by attaining a standard of excellence such as makes them noteworthy in the eyes of the Kingdom or by attempting more than one weapons form and, while not attaining mastery in any one, surpassing competence in several. Established October 9, A.S. 11 by Laeghaire and Ysabeau II.
The Order of the Sagittarius
The Order of the Sagittarius may be give to gentles in the East Kingdom who have shown superior prowess at the target archery range and have distinguished themselves in archery in one of the following areas; teaching and demonstrating the art of archery, making archery equipment or by helping to arrange archery at events and/or sites and thus demonstrating and overall impact to archery in the Kingdom. Established January 22, A.S. 18 by Viktor and Sedalia.
Order of the Golden Rapier
The Order of the Golden Rapier may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by excellence in the art of fence by consistently demonstrating superior prowess in the lists, by teaching, and by helping to promote and expand the knowledge of their art. Established April 26, A.S. 26 by Ruslan and Margaret.
Order of the Golden Lance
The Order of the Golden Lance may be given to gentles in the East Kingdom who have distinguished themselves by excellence in the equestrian arts by consistently demonstrating superior prowess in the lists, by teaching, and by helping to promote and expand the knowledge of their art. Established March 28, A.S. 49 by Edward III and Thyra II.

Order of the Golden Mantle
Order of the Golden Mantle may be given to those who have demonstrated prowess in an auxiliary capacity on the field of battle and the target range in the areas of Siege Weaponry, Scouting, and Thrown Weaponry, and given service to the Kingdom in these areas. This Award may be bestowed upon individuals or upon units (e.g. – siege weapon crews). Established March 24, A.S. 41, by Lucan and Yana.

Armigerous Orders
There are six Armigerous Orders in the East Kingdom, and their recipients are known as Companions of their respective Orders. Induction into an Armigerous Order will be accompanied by an Award of Arms for recipients who do not already have one. Companions of each Amerigerous Order will rank equally with Companions of the other Armigerous Orders in the Order of Precedence. The Armigerous Orders are awarded solely at the discretion of the Crown. They are not Polling Orders.
Order of the Silver Rapier
The Order of the Silver Rapier may be awarded by The Crown to an individual for martial skill upon the rapier field, whether in single combat or melee combat. Established August 2, A.S. 43, by Konrad and Brenwen; made armigerous December 5 A.S. 50, 2015, by Brennan II and Caoilfhionn II.
The Order of the Silver Tyger
The Order of the Silver Tyger may be awarded by the Crown to an individual for martial skill upon the armored combat lists, whether in single combat or melee combat. Established December 5 A.S. 50, 2015, by Brennan II and Caoilfhionn II.

The Order of the Silver Brooch may be awarded by the Crown to an individual for excellence in the arts or sciences, whether in a single art form or multiple art forms. Established December 5 A.S. 50, 2015, by Brennan II and Caoilfhionn II.

Order of the Silver Mantle
Order of the Silver Mantle can be given for martial skill on the field, range, or list, in the areas of equestrian, combat archery, thrown weapons, siege weaponry, scouting, and other martial arts as The Crown may determine. Established January 29 A.S. 51 (2017) by Brion III and Anna III.

Orders of Honor
There are Orders of Honor in the East Kingdom, and their recipients are known as Companions of their respective Orders. Companions of each Order of Honor will rank equally with Companions of the other Orders of Honor in the Order of Precedence.
The Order of the Burdened Tyger
The Order of the Burdened Tyger may be awarded by the Crown to those gentles associated with running an event or an aspect of an event which the Crown attended, and which They feel was well above the normal standard of excellence in the East Kingdom. The Order of the Burdened Tyger is not to be presented at the event for which it is being awarded. As the Order of the Burdened Tyger is awarded for a specific event, a gentle may receive it any number of times for any number of different events. Established February 14, A.S. 10 by Aonghais II and Ysabeau.
The Order of the Tyger’s Cub
The Order of the Tyger’s Cub may be awarded by the Crown to children under the age of eighteen in the East Kingdom who have displayed admirable virtue and decorum at events. The Companions of the Order will be entitled to act as pages to the Royalty of the East Kingdom until such time as they reach the age of eighteen. Established October 14 A.S. 13, 1978, by Gyrth and Melisande; revised December 5 A.S. 50, 2015, by Brennan II and Caoilfhionn II.
Order of Gawain
Given to honor and recognize those young people (up to and including the age of 17) who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor, honor, chivalry, courtesy, and leadership within a youth martial activity. Recipients of this award may wear on the left arm a green garter charged with a gold mullet. Established April 22, A.S. 41, by Gryffith and Aikaterine.
Order of the Troubadours
Order of Troubadours may be given for vocal entertainment, and especially for encouraging others to join in or respond in kind. The traditional token is a cup. Established October 6, A.S. 14 by Vissevald I and Embla.

The Order of the Terpsichore
Order of the Terpsichore may be given for consistent and unselfish devotion in teaching dance and polite court movement. The traditional tokens are bells. Established October 6, A.S. 14 by Vissevald I and Embla.

These awards are not armigerous, they convey no standing in the Order of Precedence, and the recipients are not Companions of any Order.
Tyger of the East
Given to those who most embody and personify the ideals of the East Kingdom. No more than one person may be so recognized during a reign; a person may receive this honor only once. Established April 26, A.S. 37 by Darius II and Roxane II.

These badges represent roles within the Society and may be used by Kingdom officers as well as branch officers and representatives at-large where applicable.
