Hosted by Barony of Bhakail - Philadelphia, PA

Event date: December 8th, 2018

Event Last Modified: December 4th, 2018

Event details

The Barony of Bhakail invites one and all to grace our hearth and find warm welcome as we all begin to settle in for the long winter nights ahead, and celebrate the fruits of a bountiful harvest.  This is Bhakail’s “40th” Yule Revel, marking the 40th year since the Barony held its first Yule Revel in December 1979.

This convivial annual event has become the Barony's time to roll up our collective sleeves and show our hospitality at its finest, in order to provide a relaxed, welcoming environment for everyone.  A variety of activities are held throughout the day, from music jam sessions, to period gaming, to more structured activities like our two Baronial Champion's competitions.  Please, come and join us!

Some quick site rules:
The SCA does not serve alcohol.  However, the site is wet:  attendees are permitted to responsibly share the fruits of their study of brewing with others.

Table lamps and candles which are contained in votives taller than the flame are permitted.

There will be childrens’ activities during the day.  Children under the age of 12 are required to be accompanied by a parent, responsible adult, or responsible teenager.

The site is almost completely ADA accessible, and has an ADA accessible rest room.  The only rooms which are not accessible are the upstairs kitchen (2 steps), the Directors Room (off the main hall, 3 steps) and the Baronial Room (up one flight of stairs behind the Directors Room).

If you need to access the elevator to enter the building, please contact the Autocrat (contact info listed below).

**UPDATED Event Information Revised 12/04/2018**

His Excellency, Rowen Cloteworthy, esteemed Baron of Bhakail will be overseeing the annual feast table decorating contest, details below:

Yule Table Decoration Competition

It is always a joy to see revelers adorn the feast tables with rich wares.  The Baron of Bhakail challenges every local group, household, or collection of friends to decorate their table at Yule.  Entries will be judged on period-appropriateness, festive appearance, and display of the group's heraldry where applicable.  His Excellency will chose the most impressive feast setting from among those sitting table at feast and will present them with a gift.
