Event details

Persephone has left our lands to be with her husband, and the Earth is in mourning for her.  To stave off the cold of winter, Caer Adamant is hosting a Roman Scholae dedicated to surviving the Long Night.  Come join us for a day of Feasting and Learning at the wonderful UU Church, where we will present classes on the preparation and preservation of food, Roman studies, and Winter projects.  Attendants are encouraged to wear Roman Garb, but are invited to please come as they wish.  There will be an area for Merchants and a small lounge area will be set up in the Roman style where all are invited to take pictures to share with their friends.

Some of Our Classes:
Roman Wrapping
Roman Coin Show and Tell
Highlights of Roman History
Humors
SCA Newcomers
Jewelry
Antiquities
Sauerkraut
On Wine
On Olives
Deer Butchering
Sausage Making
Flat Bread

An Arts and Science Display table will be set up, and attendants are encouraged to bring finished and unfinished projects on which they are currently working on over the winter months.  A small token will be given to those who display that day, and a table setting contest will be offered by head chef with a prize to be presented during the feast.

Caer Adamant is once again offering a silent winter auction to benefit the Shire encampment, and Shire crafts.

Day board will be provided in the ticket price and will consist of a light meal known as The Prandium.  This Roman meal is comparable to our lunch, and will focus on the food of the Roman Legionnaires.

For a separate fee, there will be a three course Roman feast featuring dishes common to the nobility, lead free of course.

The SCA does not serve alcohol, but those attending are permitted to bring their own drinks and responsibly share with others.
