Introduction

Baronne Sabine de Kerbriant (formerly Sabine Kerbriant de Lanvaux) first got involved with the Barony of Bhakail in 1994, accidentally drawn in by the siren call of a friend saying "Hey, someone's dragging me to this weird dance practice thing and I want you to come too!" Her primary interests are music, poetry and literature, manuscripts and early printed books, commedia dell'arte, dance, and archery, but she can easily be distracted by any interesting medieval or Renaissance art form, especially the tasty ones. She is particularly fond of all things French. Her favored musical instruments include rauschpfeife, crumhorn, recorder, and transverse flute.

She has been a baronial officer of one sort or another since 1995 and currently serves as Baroness of Bhakail, as well as director of the Bhakaili Branslers and patroness of I Zanni Illuminati. In the past she dabbled in heavy weapons fighting, fencing, embroidery, and a variety of other classic SCAdian activities, and learned not to mess with anything involving sharp points and/or long strings.

Sabine is married to Baron Nissim aven Darmon (called Darmon); their daughter Mina holds the title Marquesa of Black Icorndall.

Persona

Sabine comes from a minor Breton branch of a noble French family, somewhere very vaguely ca. 1300. Fostered in Paris, she received her first tutelage as a member of the travelling entourage of Baroness Dorren of Ashwell. She is currently being instructed in both the ars antiqua and the ars nova by Magistra Rufina Cambrensis, and additionally spends a regrettable amount of time (according to friends and family) hanging around more disreputable musicians -- as well as even more disreputable commedia players.
