Pheon

The Order of the Pheon was the first award for archery in the East. It was founded by King AElfwine and Queen Arastorm. It had a rocky and controversial existence, being at times armigerous or not, closed and re-opened, accepted and not. Eventually, it was closed and its functions were awkwardly absorbed into the Silver Crescent, the Maunche, and the Tygers Combattant by essentially adding the words "or for [service to | skill in the arts of | prowess at] archery" to those orders' statutes. (NO OTC was given for archery prowess). It was eventually replaced by the Order of the Sagittarius. --Steffan ap Kennydd 18:20, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
