Olaf Haraldsson (Óláfr inn ǫrvi Haraldsson) lives in the Shire of the Northern Outpost in the Northern Region. His persona is an 11th century Icelandic Varangian.

Olaf's wife is Dalla Olafskona and they jointly run House Wolfhaven. They are both proteged to Master Harald Ulfson, who runs House Zeebera.

Interests

Olaf's interests include service, Norse culture, armored combat, carving (in stone, wood, horn, and bone), and fencing. In 2009, Olaf held all three shire championships (armored combat, A&S, and fencing).

Autocratting & Offices

Winter War was an annual event in the Shire of the Northern Outpost. Since its inception, Winter War grew from a small midwinter melee practice to an interkingdom event, drawing people from the northeastern US and two Canadian provinces. Olaf was event steward for 11 of the 16 Winter Wars as of 2013.

Olaf served as Knight Marshall for the Shire of the Northern Outpost for at least 5 years as of 2012. He served as Deputy to the Northern Region Earl Marshall in 2010. In 2013, he became the Shire's Seneschal.

Awards & Honors

Olaf received his Award of Arms on November 6th, 1999 for service to the East.

He was made a companion of the King's Order of Excellence on August 11th, 2010 for the authenticity of his kit.

Olaf was awarded a Queen's Order of Courtesy on January 29, 2011 for his demeanor in assisting foreign royalty.

He was made a companion of the Order of the Tygers Combattant in February 2012.
