Profile
Katerine attended the 1992 Egil Skallagrimson Memorial Tournament in An Tir as her first event. She returned to the SCA in the East in 2003 to explore a little more in depth, going to local fencing practices and to War of the Roses. Since then, Katerine has been a fencer and marshal; chronicler, court herald, poet, and scroll wordsmith; event steward and class coordinator; and deputy to many. Currently, she is serving as East Kingdom Chronicler.
Katerine atte Wyshe de la Rye is late 14th-century English. She has an alternate persona, Catherine, Senyora de Sant Marti, who is late 14th-century Catalan. In her former Lowland Scots persona, she was known as Katryne Blak.
Persona
Katerine atte Wyshe de la Rye is late 14th-century English.
An alternate persona, Catherine de Sant Marti, is late 14th-century Catalan and resides near Tarragona. This given name, like the more common spelling of Catherina, is properly pronounced with a schwa on the end ("nuh"). Catherine's device is from her mother's side, from Navarra. It is close to armory in the Libro de Armeria del Reino de Navarra. Her father and his family come from Sant Marti, in the vicinity of Vic, northwest of Barcelona.
Another alternate persona, Katryne Blak, is from Lanark in Lowland Scotland.
