The Shire of Eisenthal is proud to announce that King's & Queen's Champion of Arms Tourney which will be held at our annual Landsknecht event, known this year as "Veriedegung." The event be the held at the Ukrainian Homestead, which may be familiar to many as a perennial favorite for numerous of Eisenthal's events.  This site features ample room for camping, motel rooms on a limited basis (first come, first served, at an additional fee), a swimming pool, a roomy feast hall, a shaded grove for merchanting, and a full service bar for those so inclined.

The event will include:  a Torchlight Tourney for those arriving Friday evening; King's & Queen's Champion of Arm's Tourney Saturday; five-man team Great Weapon "Rally" Tourney (Rules will be posted at the Shire Web site as well as at site); Fencing and Archery will be offered throughout Saturday; full dayboard for all attendees; a sumptious feast prepared by Eisenthal's own Iuliana, known for her feast at Krakow last year; breakfast Saturday morning, and a full Breakfast Sunday morning for all; children's activities; Masqued Ball Saturday immediately following feast; Royal Court to follow the day's tournaments; a bonfire and Bardic Circle Friday and Saturday night; Curia Sunday morning.

Friday night....

Torch Light Tourney List opens at 7:00 p.m.
starts at 8:00 p.m. 

Saturday.........

King & Queens Rattan Tourney--List opens at 9:00a.m.
Closes at 11:00a.m.
Tourney starts at 12:00 promptly

5 Man Team Great Weapons Rally--Starts shortly after K & Q Rattan Tourney ends.  Rules will be available at the site.

Bear Pit--If time allows in the day..



Sunday........

Curia......Starts promptly at 8:00 a.m.

Directions:

Directions to the site:  From PA Turnpike, NE Extension/I-476:  Take exit 74 for Mahoning Valley to Rt.  209 South towards Jim Thorpe.  **Cross the bridge and turn right at light (Caruso's Rest.) to stay on 309.  From this light continue for 2.1 miles (ignore the first Ukrainian Homestead sign) and make a left turn at the sign for "Flagstaff" (The sign is on the left side of the road).  Follow this road (Beaver Drive) for 1.7 miles, Ukrainian Homestead will be on the left.

From I-78W in NJ:  Take exit #3 (the last exit in New Jersey) through Phillipsburg.  Cross the toll bridge into PA (50 cents).  Take the 4th exit after bridge (no number given) for Rt.  248/Wilson Borough/Palmer Township.  At the end of the ramp, proeed to the light (Long John Silver's & McDonald's on corner) and turn right onto Rt.  248.  Turn left at the fourth light (New burg Road).  After several miles it will become Rt.  248 once again in the hamlet of Bath.  Follow for several more miles and make a left onto Rt.  209 South.  Follow ** above.

From I-78E & all points west of Alentown:, take Rt.  22 East to the second exit for Rt.  135 (MacArthur Rd/7th St North).  Stay on this for many miles until it ends at Rt.  248.  Turn left onto Rt 248, follow for several more miles and make a left onto Rt.  209 South.  Follow ** above.

From I-81:  Take exit 131-A/old exit 37 (Hometown/Mahanoy City) onto Rt.  54 East, through Hometown to Nesquehoning.  At the monument landmark, bear left, and continue on Rt.  209 North 4.0 miles to Jim Thorpe.  At the 2nd light, turn left and continue on Rt.  209 North for 1.5 miles.  Turn right at the top of the mountain (a diner is on the right).  At the stop sign, go straight for 1.3 miles and the Ukrainian Homestead will be on your left.  Signs will be posted.

1 double bed, bathroom w/shower.
**Note large people will be uncomfortable in these rooms.
1 night--$25.00 any additional nights $20.00 per night.

Doubles--
2 Double beds as well as a bathroom w/shower.
1 night $45.00 any addditional nights $35.00 per night.
Feast: On-board 14-adult--$18
On-board 7-13 yrs of age--$9
On-board 0-6 yrs of age--free

Deadline for reservations for the feast will be June 11, 2002
A paid reservation is the best.
