Good greetings to those who practice the martial art of heavy combat within the Kingdom of the East!  Once more, the Barony of Bergental beckons you to a Tournament of Crests!  We challenge you to adorn your helm with a crest of a most impressive and/or unusual nature.  Opponents will then target your crest while defending their own.  (Full rules and suggestions of the Tournament can be found at http://bergental.org/History/Crestfallen.html ) Our Baron et Baronne will present awards to the winner of the tournament, the best crest, the best heraldic display (overall appearance), and the best crest death.

Other activities will be announced as we get closer to the date of the event.  Archery always happens!!

Directions:

Coming from the South, it's easiest to come up I-91 to exit 24, South Deerfield, Rts.  5 & 10 and to Rt.  116.  Turn right and go North on Rts.  5 & 10 off of the exit -- Rt.  116 will join in a matter of a couple of hundred feet, if that much.  Continue on Rts 5, 10, and 116 past Yankee Candle Company, and then take a left to follow Rt.  116 North towards Conway and Ashfield.

Follow Rt.  116 all of the way into Ashfield center.  After you climb a steep hill into the center, you will be making a right turn on Baptist Corner Road (there is a small church on the far left of the intersection).  Follow at *** below.

Coming from the North, take exit 26 off of I-91 in Greenfield (the Rt.  2 rotary).  Follow Rt.  2 West for 15-20 minutes until you join Rt.  112.  Take a right turn to follow Rt.  112 _South_ when it leaves Rt.  2 (Rt.  112 North will be an earlier left turn).  Follow Rt.  112 into Ashfield, and turn left onto 116 towards Ashfield center.  After about 2 miles (possibly less), take a left turn onto Baptist Corner Road.  Follow at *** below.

*** Follow Baptist Corner Road for 1.7 miles and then take a left onto Barnes Road.

The sugarhouse is at the bottom of the first hill, on the right.  Parking will along the road, in the lower parking lot next to the sugarhouse, across the street, across the brook, wherever there's space.

Site : Day fee:  Adults & Youth 13-17 $5, Youth 6 to 12 $3, Under 6 is free.  (There will be a $5 non-member surcharge.)

For dayboard, Bergental wishes to keep the fee at a minimum by challenging attendees to contribute period finger food to be included in a potluck style midday feast.  This is NOT a requirement, but the more the merrier. 

Those who do bring a dish need to provide enough for 10 - 20 people and include an ingredient list for allergy awareness.  If you wish to contribute, please contact Baron Lyle at lylefitzw@gmail.com.  (We also suggest you label your dish for identification.) Dayboard will be served from 12:00-2:00.

Pre-registration needs to be in our hands by September 4th.  A confirmation can be sent back to you upon request.  Please include the manner of which you wish to be contacted.  (carrier pigeons are right out!) The only reservation is a paid reservation.
