Artisans' Challenge, Display and Workshop **UPDATED**
(At-a-Glance Event Information)
Saturday, November 6th, 2010
Hosted by Shire of Hartshorn-dale - Blue Bell, PA
Event Last Modified: June 16th, 2010
The Shire of Hartshorn-dale calls upon all artisans to come to the Artisans' Challenge, Display and Workshop. Bring your latest work and show it off and talk about it with other artisans. Got something cool you're working on now? Bring it along and show it off as you share your enthusiasm. Issue or attempt a challenge.
Please take note of the unique start time for this event of 2 in the afternoon (the site is used in the mornings). A light supper board will be put out around 4:00 (menu will be posted to the website when finalized). There is no feast, and those seeking heartier fare may wish to bring food to enjoy (or share). If cooking is your art and you wish to contribute item(s) to the food offered, please contact the head cook in advance to allow for planning.
Challenges:
We have received 20, yes 20 challenges! The challenges are wide ranging. Check out the list at http://sites.google.com/site/artisanscdw/
Those taking up challenges are encouraged to contact the individual challengers and let them know.
Display/Workshop:
Artisans are encouraged to register with the coordinator ahead of the event to ensure display/work space. If you require anything special (large display area, electricity, a “messy acceptable” area), you MUST register ahead of time to allow for planning. For those not registering in advance, space for display/work will be allotted on a first come first serve basis. Plan on spending some time with your work (other than when you're browsing other artisans' displays), to talk about it.
Performance:
We plan to have a performance area set up for those whose art is performance based. Please contact Lady Siobhan (mcgoff.s AT gmail.com)for details.
All attendees are encouraged to bring personal tokens to distribute to those works that speak to you. Some tokens will also be provided at the gate. There will also be a supply of comment cards available, though you are encouraged to discuss your thoughts with the artisans. The Display/Workshop is not a competition, and it is not a judging situation, it is a time to share and enjoy.
Meetings/Classes....
Would you like to hold a guild meeting at the event, or teach a class? Contact Lady Elizabet
