Return once again to the fields of Mariaville to compete in the yearly contest to see who is mightier, York or Lancaster.  This year marks the 30th Roses, as well as Concordia's 30th Year as a Barony.  Many of the traditional activites are planned, including the Tourneys, with their fantastic prizes.  This year, at the request of Their Majesties, there will also be a five man melee tournament following the Claude the Frank Tournament on Saturday.  So bring your armor, your fencing gear, string your bows, practice your bardic pieces.  There is something for everyone at Roses.  This year will also see the continuation of the Shopping War Point, so bring some money and help your side to victory!

Come visit with old friends and make new ones on the fields of Mariaville, as we celebrate the 30th Wars of the Roses, and the 30th Year of Concordia as a Barony!

Directions:

From the SOUTH:  Take the NYS Thruway (toll road I-87) north, then west (the NYS changes to toll road I-90 in Albany) you will not pay the toll until you get to exit 25A.  Get off at exit 25A (pay toll), you are now on I-88, immediately after the toll take the first exit (exit 25 – Rt.  7), turn left at the stop sign and go to the light (stay in the left lane).  Go to the *** below. 

From the NORTH:  Take the Adirondack Northway (free road I-87) south to the NYS Thruway.  Go west on the NYST to exit 25A.  Get off at exit 25A (pay toll if applicable), you are now on I-88, immediately after the toll take the first exit (exit 25 – Rt.  7), turn left at the stop sign and go to the light (stay in the left lane).  Go to the *** below. 

From the EAST:  Take I-90 (free 90) west to the last exit.  This puts you at the NYS Thruway.  Get ticket and go west to exit 25A.  Get off at exit 25A (pay toll if applicable), you are now on I-88, immediately after the toll take the first exit (exit 25 – Rt.  7), turn left at the stop sign and go to the light (stay in the left lane).  Go to the *** below. 

From the WEST:  Take I-88 to exit 25.  At the end of the ramp turn right and go to the light (stay in the left lane).  Go to the ***below.  OR Take the NYS Thruway east to exit 25A.  Get off at exit 25A (pay toll), you are now on I-88, immediately after the toll take the first exit (exit 25 – Rt.  7), turn left at the stop sign and go to the light (stay in the left lane).  Go to the ***below. 

***At the light turn left onto Rt.  7.  Go 9/10 of a mile to the light and take the left onto Burdeck St.  (Rt.  337).  Take this to the first light (1/2-mile) and turn left onto Rt.  159 (there is a STEWARTS at this intersection).  Follow Rt.  159 for 8 8/10 miles into Mariaville.  You will cross the Mariaville Lake, and come to a light.  This is an odd intersection, bear/turn left around the store.  You are now on Batter Street.  Go another 1 mile; the site is on the right.  Signs will be posted to assist you. 

NOTE:  The NYS Thruway covers 2 different interstate routes depending on the direction it is going.  It is I-90 when it runs Albany to Buffalo (East/West) & I-87 when it runs from NYC to Albany (North/South).  Make sure that you follow I-90 WEST when it changes in the Albany area. 

ALTERNATE ROUTES: 
Note that there will be no SCA signs posted on these routes, but if you are comfortable with driving in the boondocks, you might consider these possibilities. 

From points in the WEST along the I-88 corridor:  From I-88 take exit 23 for NY-30A.  Turn left at the top of the ramp.  At the flashing light, turn right onto Route 7 East.  At the next light, 2 miles up the hill, turn left onto Route 30 North and drive for 9.3 miles.  Between Hardin Road and Mariaville Road (Rt 159) take a sharp right onto Duanesburg Churches Rd.  Just under a mile further, the road splits.  Take the left onto Batter Street.  The site is 1.5 miles up, on your left. 

From points in the WEST along the I-90 corridor:  From I-90 take exit 27 for NY-30.  Turn left onto NY-30, heading South for 8.5 miles.  Be aware of the extremely sharp turn in the town of Scotch Bush at about mile 6.  Just past Mariaville Road (Rt 159) take a left onto Duanesburg Churches Rd.  Just under a mile further, the road splits.  Take the left onto Batter Street.  The site is 1.5 miles up, on your left.
