Endewearde Hunt VII **INCOMPLETE**
(At-a-Glance Event Information)
Friday, October 8th, 2010 to Monday, October 11th, 2010
Hosted by Shire of Endewearde - Newburgh, ME
Event Last Modified: March 9th, 2010
As the days grow shorter, the leaves in the quiet Shire of Endewearde begin to change. Among the trees, near a quiet little pond, the archers gather together for one last competition. The grounds have been walked and the targets have been raised in preparation for shafts to fly. The crisp autumn air brushes against the skin as bow strings are drawn back.
The residents of the Shire of Endewearde invite all to join us at the Endewearde Hunt VII. Archers and non-archers alike are encouraged to put up their pavilions under the trees and bask in the cool autumn glow for a weekend of camaraderie and displays of archery prowess. Enjoy the company of others by the warm fires in the evening and toast to the merriment of all. Saturday and Sunday boast wonderful and challenging archery events lead by Endewearde's First Archer. A light dayboard will be offered midday on Saturday for all.
The House of the Merry Magpies will be hosting their second annual potluck dinner Saturday evening. If you wish to participate, please contact Nevell Sudlow at neville@endewearde.eastkingdom.org.
The site is both wet and dry – dry as there is no potable water on the site, so be sure to bring what you need of drinking water and washing water; "WET" because you may drink what you will! We will have chemical toilet facilities available on site. There are two convenience stores located within 4 miles of the site.
Camping is available at the site. Individual campfires will be allowed only in above-ground fire pits. Pets must be caged or leashed at all times. For those chilled by the thought of autumn camping, hotels may be found in the nearby towns of Bangor, Bucksport, or Newport, all of which are less than half-an-hour from the site.
Directions:
Take your best route to I-95, Exit 174. Head toward Newburgh (from the south, turn right at the exit; from the north, turn left at the exit). You'll go about 1.2 miles on Rt 69, then turn right onto Rt 202/9, heading west. Drive just over 4 miles, and the site will be on your right. You're looking for a large white building named "Hospital Chaplaincy." Turn there and follow the drive out into the woods behind the buildings.
