Hold the date!
We are at it again! The Shire of Quintavia and the Barony of Bergental return once more to the simple pleasures of Sommer Draw -- promising rest, relaxation and recreation.
This year, we are inspired by the Muses of Mirth -- from List Fields to the Great Hall, during sunny day and dusk of night, there will be Games to play, Riddles to solve and Fun to be had for all ages. There will be challenging activities on the List Fields for Heavy Arms, Fencing and our Youth. Tricky shoots and crafty throws await those who would try their skill at a ranged target.
Listed below are just some of the activities we have planned for you. Stay tuned to this spot for more updates!
DIABOLIS IN MUSICA returns to Sommer Draw, with a Saturday night fireside 'jam'. Come, join those masterful musicians as they make merry with us!
WHIM TOURNEY -- Once more, the Spirit of Whimsy has overtaken our lovely Countess Svava! Sommer Draw is again proud to host another of her Wonderful, Whimsical Tournaments. For further information on this tourney, please contact Countess Svava (contact information listed below).
RAPIER will be fine, with frolicking fencing for fabulous and frivolous fencers, featuring fabled frenzies. These challenges will be brought to you by our Marshal in Charge, Lady Xandra Rozina Xiberras Galea ("Rozi"), and will consist of FUN tournaments designed for all levels of skill. Small-melee tournaments will be the focus of the day, with prizes for style, stamina and skill. For further information, please contact Lady Rozi (contact information listed below).
THROWN WEAPONS -- Come one, come all and join our merry attempt to get our royal rounds for TW started. This is the first year of doing royal rounds for TW in the East and we need to get a good kick off. So, if you haven't had the chance yet, come on out and play. Our TW Marshal will be running them Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Since you can only submit one score per thrower per day, and you need three scores to be official, this is your chance to get all three in one event. A prize will be given out to the best overall Royal Round for the weekend. We'll also bring along a few other things to throw at to keep it interesting and we might even pull off some torch light throwing (until we lose all our weapons :-). For further information, please contact Brokk (contact information listed below).
CHILDREN will enjoy period games with prizes, and participate in various activities, such as crafting a medieval toy, preparing a medieval snack, and making a lantern to light the way for a special eventide procession. Most scheduled activities will occur between 12:30 p.m and 3:30 p.m. For further information on our special children's activities, please contact Lady Toi Fiore (contact information below).
YOUTH COMBAT will be challenging and fun, expertly managed by none other than Lady Dziuginte and her band of merry cohorts. For futher information, please contact Lady Dziuginte (contact information listed below).
ARCHERY will feature shoots and a tournament designed to challenge all comers, from the novice archer to the seasoned veteran. Youth archers are especially welcome! For further information, please contact Lord Aleksei Dmitriev (contat information listed below).
GAMES of various sorts will occur throughout the weekend, including tabletop games, lawn games and even a Special Moonlight Memorial Bocce Tournament (the latter brought to you by Count Kai de Ravenglas). Bring your own games and test your comrades -- there will be space provided for your board games, and with advance notice, your favourite lawn game, too.
FOOD and drink will be available for a modest fee during the lunch hour on Saturday, and for your morning meal on Sunday. These tasty items will be brought to you by the incomparable Cooks of Bergental.
CAMPING is encouraged! Indeed, there will be awards presented for a series of 'Best Encampments' categories. The site offers nice, level space for tenters of all varieties, and even has a few wooded nooks for those who prefer a more sylvan setting for their repose. Campers should inspect their chosen sites for unwanted flora and fauna before pitching their tents.
MERCHANTS of all sort will be present for your shopping pleasure! The site offers a lovely, centrally-located avenue for browsing and buying fine wares.
