FIGHTING STARTS AT 10:00 AM

The past few years have not had enough War.  Sure we have plenty of War Camps, but a full fledged stand alone Wars, not many. 

We also talk about new blood, but there are never enough demos.  What if we could kill two birds with one stone?

Let's have a War and a Demo all at once?

Here is our chance.  On June 12th 2010, in the Barony of the Bridge (Washington County Fairgrounds) at the RI Scottish Highland Games, we will be holding a Clan War.

Here in one place, beer drinking, history minded Scotsman looking to find their past, find us, beer drinking, rowdy, armored, history minded, assorted Europeans hacking each other to bits.

Four Clans, with appropriate Tartans, will each compete in a
series of melee challenges to proclaim the King of Scots, for the day. 

More details to come, mark you calendar now for a non stop day of melee and mayhem. 

Added Bonus - a return of the Highlander, there can be only one melee.

YOUTH FIGHTING:  Will take place as well.

The demo portion we will be doing all aspects of the SCA including A & E, Archery, Fencing, Youth and Heavy list. 

This year vending will be avail on a very small scale, each "merchant" is allowed a 4' x 4' (approx) table which to sell their wares they have made ONLY, you must bring your own table.  All other merchants will have to go through the vendor coordinator for the RISHG and pay the standard fee.

Continue on Rte 138 East
Just past the Meadowbrook Golf Course on your right, bear right onto Rte 112
Follow Rte 112 about 1 1/2 miles to fair entrance

Take Interstate 95 to Exit 3A - Rte 138 East
Continue on Rte 138 East
Just past the Meadowbrook Golf Course on your right, bear right onto Rte 112
Follow Rte 112 about 1 1/2 miles to fair entrance

FROM NEWPORT & SOUTH COUNTY
Take Rte 1 to Rte 138 West
Continue on Rte 138 West while crossing Rte 2
Continue on Rte 138 West.  Pass Beaver River Golf Club
At the bottom of the hill, take a left onto Rte 112
Follow Rte 112 about 1 1/2 miles to fair entrance

Event Fees:

Site : Anyone who is on site by 8:30 am is free.

Anyone there for the demo after 8:30 am with a SCA membership card (blue or white) will check in at a SCA Members table and pay $10 pp (under 10 $6 and babes in arms are free).  Fighter please stop at the table first.

Anyone without a SCA membership card will go to the regular public entrance and pay the $12 pp.

CRAFT MERCHANT AREA:  Only very small 10' x 10' max area per merchant will be allowed for SCA members to merchant hand made merchandise in the SCA demo area.  Permission must be obtained by the Autocrat to set up in this area.  When contacting me please give me specifics on what you will be selling so we can avoid overlapping of product.  The Autocrat reserves the right to ask any vendor not adhering to these rules to move off the demo area and into the regular merchant area and pay the fee to the RISHG. 

Many food vendors and plenty for the kids to do at the games.
