|The winter months are one again upon us, and so the Barony of Stonemarche invites one and all to a Market Day a Birka.|
Their Excellencies, Baron Juan Lazaro Ramirez Xavire and Baronessa Maria Pagani are preparing the following activites to engage their guests while there: large merchant area, martial arts activities, fashon show, A&S display, pannelings, classes, dancing, hafla, and sundry space for meetings. Their Majesties of the East will also be holding Royal Court. Their Excelencies will be holding Baronial Court just before that. These schedules will be available mid January.
Gates for Trolling in will open on Fiday night from 6:00-9:00pm. The Merchant Area will be open form 6:00-10:00pm. Troll will open again on Saturday from 8:00am until 3:00pm. The Merchant area will open again at 9:00am and close about 6:00pm.

For those driving: Find your way to Route 293 in Manchester, NH.
North: Take Exit 5 and turn right onto Granite St. Go through two lights and the hotel garage will be on the left.
South: Take Exit 5 and turn left onto Granite St. Go thru two lights and the hotel garage will be on the left.

Feast: Food Services: There will be no dayboard or feast served.
However, there will be several concession stands run by the hotel, and vending machines. Note: the vending machines run out quickly. There will also be a Restaurant Guide found at the Information Table, and on the Birka.org site.

Information regarding Minors: Parents and guardians should be aware that areas of the event site are open to the public. PLEASE be mindful of where your children are. Additional information regarding minors is available at www.birka.org or www.eastkingdom.org
Paraphrased form the EK Seneschal Documnets - If a minor is attending the event, they must be in the company of a parent, guardian, or court appointed legar guardian. It can also be a designated adult over the age of 21, but paper work must be filled out in advance of the event, including a medical authorization form. Hotel Information: The site is offering a reduced room rate for event attendees. Reservations must be made with the hotel prior to Jan 4th, 2010. Contact the Radisson directly at 603-625-1000 and mention the Society for Creative Anachronism/Birka to receive the reduced rate. Other nearby hotels will be listed in September at Birka.org along with restarunts of interest in the area.
Merchant Pre-Registration: Merchants need to submit an applicaion and be approved to merchant at the event. No applications will be accepted before October 1st. Details will be on the website: http://www.birka.org after Sept 9th.
Volunteering for Birka: We are always in need of a helping hand for gate work, the infomation table, security, and a few other unique tasks. If you are intereted, please contact the autocrat.
Martial Activites: All activites are indoor on Saturday. There will be heavy list, fencing, and youth fighting. Heavy list will be bearpit style with prizes awared to the top scoring gentles, in both belted and unbelted, scores should be available that day.
Other Activities: Bardic performances, A&S displays, fashon show, hafla, pannelings, classes, order meetings. We have a performance area in the merchant area, and are looking for perfomers all all sorts. Please contact the autocrat for scheduling.
