Very high and powerful princes, dukes, counts, barons, lords, knights and squires at arms, gentle lords and ladies of the East Kingdom (and all you peasants...), the Barony of Dragonship Haven would like to cordially invite you to attend the East Kingdom Twelfth Night. We will be holding it at the lovely Golden Hill Methodist Church in Bridgeport CT, on the 6th of January 2007.
We have a day planned packed full of shopping, schmoozing, A&S displays, youth activities, and great food.
Please note: This is a DRY SITE. No alcohol is permitted on the grounds.
We will also be hosting the Kings and Queens Arts & Sciences competition. Further details will be posted when we have them. For those with questions, please contact Nest verch Tangwistel at eastarch@yahoo.com, or see the website at: http://www.smokingrocksartsandsciences.com/kingandqueens.html
By Their Majesties decree, there will be a little whimsy to this special event, so They will be hosting a contest;
For East Kingdom Twelfth Night please bring out your best and most outlandish hats! We are having
a Crazy Hat Day!
The only rules are:
1) They must be of a period style, within SCA parameters
2) Please provide a 3 by 5 card with the nationality and the historical dating of your hat
3) No more then two hats per contestant,
4) You will need to bring your own wig-head or something to display your hats on.
5) Optional, a picture of first or secondary source that you based your hat on would be a nice addition for your project.
The contest is open to all and there will be three prizes. Queen's Whim, Princess's Pick and Populace Choice.
Good luck everyone. We challenge you to show us what you can do!
************************
The feast, in keeping with their Majesties desire for all things Slavic, will be a Russian meal, cooked by our Maitre de Cuisine, Gregorii. Entertainment during dinner will include, but not be limited to, a performance by the Lodestar Players, the Official Theatre Troop Of the Reign of Lucan and Yana, of the new play 'The Lady of Prato' by King's Bard, Chiara di Montepulciano.
Watch this space for further details in the days to come.
