Black Rose Ball:  Gold is the New Black

As the Golden Sun rises above the empty branches, Their Excellencies Bridge call forth their Herald.  They instruct him to announce the Kingdom of the East that a ball to celebrate the return of the Spring will be held in their lands.  They have declared that this celebration will honor a color dear to the realm upon this, its fiftieth year, and the Barony itself:  Gold.  .  The site is called to be adorned in the traditional roses of black, but this year will hold so much more, as there will be challenges for the populace to incorporate gold into their clothing, arts and sciences displays and any other way in which they can celebrate her day.  Find all your finest that glitters and wear it so all can see!
This year the Black Rose Ball celebrates its forty-first year where all celebrate the filling of the coffers and the return of the Sun by wearing their finest garb.

Duchess Thyra Eiriksdottir has planned an entertaining list of dances that will entice both the most experienced or the novice dancer alike.  There will be dance instruction throughout the day to familiarize attendees with the dances to be performed at the ball.  The amazing Waytes of Carolingia will bring their skill with wind and string to delight the dancers.

Suhayma and Periac of Clan O'Choda will lead the culinary talents in the kitchen, and her skilled staff will prepare a repast that is fit for Royalty.  This wonderful feast will fortify the body for the events of the evening.

For this feast, we will be limiting seating to 100 guests (8 of these reservations will be set aside for the High Table of Their Excellencies), so reservations will be required.
The meals of the day will be as follows:
Dayboard will be Peasant Pea Soup (no meat); Egredouce (beef stew); Cheese; Sausage; Bread; Grapes (or some other fruit).
Dinner will be Persian:  Maqluba (Beef Patties w/Walnuts); Jazr (Carrots with a garlicy sauce); Aruzziya (Rice with Lamb); Fustaqiya (Chicken and Pistachios in Almond Milk; Ijjamin Badhinjan (Eggplant Loaves w/an equally delicious, but different garlicy sauce).  Table setting will include Turnip Pickle; Zaitun (Olives); Flat Breads.
Dessert board; Rutab Mu'Assal (Perfumed Dates); Hais (Date and Nut Balls); Khushknanaj (Little loaves with ground almonds and rose water.)
Prior to this feast the final Court of Their Excellencies Ulrich and Clothilde will be held for the edification and amusement of all attending.

Music and dance, food and drink, good friends and hearty laughter, and all things that may not be what they appear await you in the Barony of the Bridge.  Join us for this most venerable of balls, the longest continuously held dance event in the known world!
There will be several challenges to suit all for this day, please consider taking part.
Arts and Sciences Challenge:  Incorporate the best use of gold in your craft.  There will be a room to display your craft, so please bring appropriate means of displaying it.

Garb challenge:  Incorporate specific EK or gold into your attire, judging will be going on all day, and at court will be announced the winner.

Weather permitting, there is a space that can be used for light and heavy weapons.
