Baronial Archery Championship Event date: June 4th, 2017
Hosted by Barony of L'ile du Dragon Dormant - Philipsburg, QC
Event Last Modified: May 8th, 2017
Event details
The archers of l'Ile du Dragon Dormant will gather to compete for the title of Baronial Archery Champion.  The event will be held in the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Philipsburg, Quebec, an hour’s distance from Montreal.  The morning will be for A&S classes in the hall and open shooting on the field.  In the afternoon, the field will be given over to the challengers for the championship.  Following the championship, Their Excellencies will hold court.  There will be a generous dayboard.

The range is outdoors and the event will be held regardless of the weather so dress appropriately, although there will be shelter available on the field.

Further information:  No outside alcohol is permitted, but there is a cash bar in the Legion Hall where alcohol may be purchased.  There are no open flames allowed in the hall.  Out of respect for the Legion’s traditions, those in masculine garb are requested to remove their hats indoors.  Loaner archery equipment will be available for use by anyone that does not have their own; all personal equipment must be inspected by a marshal prior to use and may be refused if deemed unsafe.

From our current champion:

Greetings all,
Please find below the format of the upcoming Baronial Archery Championships.
I, Litt Skegg ask that YOU challenge me for the right to be the next Baronial Archery Champion.
Challenges will be in the form of a game that the challenger believes that they can best myself at.  All those wishing to compete in the Baronial Archery Championships must send myself and their Excellencies their letter of intent before the end of May.  Challengers must also have their escutcheons displaying their device (approved or not) to be hung from the list tree.

The events of the day will commence with Royal Rounds to be followed up in the afternoon by the games provided by the Challengers.
Points will be awarded per game once I have more details of them, most likely points awarded for the winner, and the closest 2 others.
In the event of a tie, then a sudden death closest to the center shoot will be played to decide the victor.
Thank you all
In Service,
Marksmen, Litt Skegg

Letters of intent along with a description of your game should be sent to Litt Skegg (james.feghali@gmail.com), Baronne Genovefa (baronne@dragondormant.eastkingdom.org) and Baroness Jeanne (baroness@dragondormant.eastkingdom.org).

From Montreal, cross to the South Shore and take Highway 10 South.  Take exit 22 onto Highway 35 South.  When it ends, turn left onto Highway 133 and follow the signs for Vermont.  You’ll go through Pike River and then the highway will become divided with a grass median.  Shortly after that, you’ll see a flashing yellow light hung above the highway.  Turn left there, and that’s the Legion hall.

From Vermont, take Interstate 89 north and cross into Canada at the Highgate Springs border crossing.  Continue north on the same road (Highway 133).  A few miles after the border, you’ll see a flashing yellow light hung above the highway.  Turn right there, and that’s the Legion hall.

From New York, cross the border at any crossing and continue north until you hit Highway 202.  Follow Highway 202 east around Lake Champlain to where it intersects with Highway 133 in Pike River.  Take 133 south until you see the flashing yellow light above the highway.  Turn left there, and that’s the Legion hall.
