Event details
Yule Myth Me is coming in December on the 10th from 10 to 10, at the fabulous site of the German Society of Pennsylvania.  Save the Date!  There will be something for the historians, artists, musicians, and more.  The focus is on late 12th to mid-13th England.  There will be two quests:  one will be for applications entering a University between Oxford and Cambridge; the other is tentatively for which Robin Hood (there are 6) do you think is the best one? Attenders can wear something from their favorite mythological beastie, or what college students wore, or what a specific official might have worn (like a mayor, a shire reeve), what Robin hood might really have worn.  Focus is on English, but we’re open to anything.  Or come as you wanted to be.

The Baron & Baroness of Bhakail have called for competitions to be held to find a new Arts & Sciences Champion and a new Brewing Champion.  Information on the competitions to follow.

The SCA does not serve alcohol.  However, the site allows BYOB:  attendees are permitted to responsibly share the fruits of their study of brewing with others.  There will be a brewing competition held by the current champion.

Bhakail Arts and Sciences Championship 2016
The theme of this year’s Arts and Sciences Championship is Devotion.
“Through devotion, your family cares become more peaceful, mutual love between husband and
wife becomes more sincere, the service we owe to the prince more faithful, and our work, no
matter what it is, becomes more pleasant and agreeable.” Francis de Sales.
Devotion is a popular theme of art throughout history.  For this competition, explore whatever it is
that your persona would be devoted to.
Are you devoted to a territorial lord or lady? How do you show it?
Do you devote yourself to an ideal, such as chivalry, honor, art, or faith?
Does your persona carry items of religious devotion?
Do you write poetry to a paramour? Do you write letters to potential patrons?
Do you practice the art of courtly love?
Rules:
Your entry may be a single item or a small collection of items that are linked thematically (all items
found in a traveling bag, or a multiple items of clothing compiling a complete outfit).  If your entry is
a research paper, please email it to mikewgoodman@gmail.com no later than December 1, 2016
to be judged.
Please provide one to two pages of documentation for your entry.  Include a statement about what
your persona is devoted to, and how your entry represents, reflects, or contributes to the
relationship.
Each entrant will have five minutes to discuss their entry.
Entries will be judged by a small panel, which will include the Baron and Baroness, and the
current A&S Champion.
One entrant will also be named, “Choice of the Populace,” and will receive a gift from the current
champion.
Any questions, contact Lorenzo Gorla at mikewgoodman@gmail.com
