|Hosted by Barony of Carolingia - Medfield, MA||Event Last Modified: March 6th, 2017|
|The Barony of Carolingia is delighted to present a Laurels' Prize Tourney – a day where challenges are met, knowledge is shared, and great fun is had! Please join us at the First Parish Unitarian-Universalist of Medfield, MA on March 25, 2017.|
What is a Laurels' Prize Tourney? A Laurels' Prize Tourney is an event where members of the Order of the Laurel issue challenges in their area(s) of expertise, to be met by any interested party. (Really! You do not need any award or rank to answer a challenge – just a desire to engage with the question and share your results.)
At the event, you will meet with the Laurel who issued the challenge, and have the opportunity to talk in-depth with them about your work. You will also have the opportunity to display your work to all interested attendees; those who choose to answer a performance-based challenge will have the opportunity to perform your answer for not only the Laurel who issued the challenge, but also interested attendees from the event in general.
Each Laurel defines the terms of their challenge; please read them carefully, and if you have questions, please ask! We will be happy to get you answers. Each challenger will also decide how they wish to reward those who meet their challenge; some may choose a single winner, and some may reward every entrant who answers. There is no overall competition – there is no “Tourney Winner” for the day.
10am - Site Opens; Display and Challenge Meetings Begin
12pm - Dayboard opens (provided by Lord Orlando dei Medici)
1pm - Performance Challenges (all are welcome to make up the audience)
4pm - Baronial Court
5pm - Site Closes
[Please note: we have had a wonderful and enthusiastic response to the Laurel Challenges - so much so that we are no longer able to provide space for display to those who are not answering a challenge. We are very sorry, but are grateful to see such interest!]
DUE TO ENTHUSIASTIC RESPONSE, ALL CHALLENGES ARE NOW CLOSED. Pre-registering for the event is not also required, but is enormously appreciated.
