For ARCHERY, we will have a fabulous fun shoot, with both competition and general shooting, as well as the Barony Beyond the Mountain Baronial Archery Tournament.  We invite the archers of BBM to come out and take part in a challenging but fun shoot for the honor of representing your Barony.

Fencing for the day will include two tournaments as well as the Barony Beyond the Mountain Baronial Rapier Championship.

Selective Targets Tournament
This is a double elimination tourney.  Only designated shots will be
counted as good.
Thrusts to the face, below the line of the eyebrows.
Cuts or Thrusts to the neck.
Cuts or Thrusts to the underside of the arm as normal
Cuts or Thrusts to the Groin and insides of the thigh as normal.
Cuts to the inside of the forearm from the elbow joint to the
wrist shall disable the arm.
Thrusts to the pit of the elbow shall disable the arm.
Cuts to the pit and sides of the knee will disable that leg.
Thrusts to the shin will disable the leg.
Cuts to the hamstring will disable the leg.
All other blows shall be ignored.  Any combatant that is judged by the marshal to be abusing the spirit of the rules shall be given
warning or removed by the marshal's discretion.  The tournament will
be fought with no restricted forms.  Cut and Thrust will be legal if
both combatants agree.

Gambler's Tournament
This tourney will be a multi-form tournament.  This will be a Bear
Pit style format.  Each combatant will throw the dice to determine
what form they will bring.
1- Single
2- Rigid Parry
3- Soft Parry
4- Dagger
5- Case of Rapiers
6- Combatant's Choice
If you are not authorized in a form, you must default to single

All are welcome in the regular tournament and we can't wait to see fencers from all over BBM coming to fight to become our next Baronial Champion!  Pennsic is coming up shortly and this is the only way to fight in the Known World Baronial Fencing Tournament.  Come represent BBM and show the Known World what kind of fencers BBM has!

If your game is thrown weapons, it will be a day of Thrown Weapons instruction, guidance and if there is enough interest, competition.  Newer people will have the opportunity to work with experienced throwers on techniques.  MiT's will have the opportunity to work with experienced marshals and get some valuable range time.  Royal Rounds will be available for anyone who wishes to throw them.

If the heavy list is your preference,we have a novel tournament, the Fortunes of War, planned for the day.  As the season of war looms ahead, equipment fails, servants neglect their duties, and the gods may decide to have some fun.  Will their attention be baleful or weal? As the combatants get ready to enter the list they will pick a fortune cookie to find out.

Our Games Mistress also has a full day planned for those who are so inclined, to include:
The June Pole - come dance and weave the ribbons.

Kubb - A possibly modern game with Scandinavian roots.  All after noon after June Pole Dance

Quiots was prohibited by Edward III and Richard II to encourage archery but today we can do both all afternoon after the June Pole Dance

Il Paleo Racing - we can't afford real horses, but you can participate in this exciting Medieval race on one of our fine stable of racing stick horses - with a few modern twists.  Adult races 3:00 Children 3:30 or after the grownups can be persuaded to give up the horses.

Croquet - Though modern (1850s) in its modern form, game of ground ball and stick have been popular in Western Europe since the later Middle Ages.  "Tee off" all afternoon after the June Pole Dance.

Tug of War - dating from Ancient Egypt, Greece and China, tug of war in its present form has change almost none at all to modern times.  Challenge your friends - or foes - to tug of war!  2:00 in the trees between the parking lot and the street.  Subsequent tugs may be held the rest of the afternoon.

We have a wonderful day planned for you with many tournaments, classes, and other fun things to do.  Please come and join us and help us celebrate the day!
