The Shire of Buckland Cross is providing a Living History Demonstration at The Village Renaissance Faire, from 11 AM through 6 pm daily, Saturday, September 20 thru Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Wrightstown, PA.  ALL SCA MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO JOIN US!

Fencing, Heavy Fighting, Period Games of Skill and Chance, Music, Heraldry, Fiber Arts, Tabard Making and everything reminiscent of the period is welcome.  We will have at least 5 tents, 2 pavilions and a good sized shared list field.  If you wish to add a period tent or exhibit please contact Narlo (Bob Borton) the event autocrat at 215-919-2739 (cell) or bob@phantacorp.com.

CALLING ALL FENCERS AND HEAVY FIGHTERS!:  if there are sufficient participants, there will be two tournaments held each day (one for fencing, one for heavy list) to entertain the crowds and display the prowess of our combatants!  (Prizes are yet to be determined; donations and suggestions for the same are welcome.)

Overnight camping is available and limited.  For anyone participating and/or camping, we'll be cooking dinner and likely breakfast (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast).  Food is also available for purchase when the Faire is open (as we will not be able to cook while open to the public).

Directions:
FROM I-95 (15 minutes):  Take exit 49, Newtown/Yardley, North/East towards Newtown.  (this will be a left for those traveling on I 95 North and a right for those coming from I 95 South, from NJ).  Continue along this four lane artery for several miles.  After passing Tyler State Park and Bucks County Community College, both on your left, continue on what has now become a country road (Swamp Road).  Go through your first stop sign.  At your second intersection, Route 232/Second Street Pike (there is a stone octagonal school on your left).  Turn right, onto Route 232/Second Street Pike.  Go 1 mile.  Turn right at the Second Street Pub (on your right) onto Penns Park Road.  The Faire is 1 mile up and on your right.

FROM PA TURNPIKE (20 minutes):  Take Exit 27, Willow Grove.  Stay to your right after you pay the toll.  You will briefly merge onto Route 611.  Take a sharp right at your first light, Mill Road.  Follow this road through 2 lights until you reach a "T" intersection on County Line Road.  Turn left.  At your next light, take a right onto Jacksonville Road, RT 332.  Continue through 2 lights.  This road also comes to a "T".  Turn right onto Almshouse Road (also 332).  At the second light after the turn, go left on 2nd Street Pike, also marked Rt 232.  Proceed North for 4 miles.  Turn right at the Second Street Pub onto Penns Park Road.  The Faire is 1 mile up on your right.

 
Event Fees
Site : On-line and at the door event registration will be available through the faire organizers.  Public Admission is $5 per adult; young children and parking are free.  Discounts are being arranged for SCA members and volunteers.

Feast: There is no formal feast, but for anyone participating and/or camping, we'll be cooking dinner and likely breakfast (Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, Sunday breakfast).  Food is also available for purchase when the Faire is open (as we will not be able to cook while open to the public).

As this a Demo, we are not accepting paid reservations by mail.  However, if you wish to add a period tent to our Living History Exhibition, or camp overnight please contact the Event Autocrat as soon as possible.  Space is limited, so the sooner you contact the autocrat, the greater your chances for obtaining a space.  Thanks!
