No...still not it...
Sunbury Revitalization, Inc. wants to showcase the SCA at their First Annual Lake Augusta Renaissance Festival on August 30th! Located in Sunbury, PA, in the Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais, the festival will be centered around the SCA.
We invite all the good peoples of AEthelmearc, The East, Atlantia, and The Midrealm to come and participate in this festival! Lunch will be provided to all who attend and assist with the event. This event is free to all SCAdians whose membership is in good standing. Those who attend without a valid Blue Card will simply need to pay the regular site admission of $5 for 17 & up and $3 for youth 4-16; children ages 3 and under are free. (Since this is being billed as a Renaissance Festival, we expect some members of the public to attend in costume; thus, your Blue Card will let us know you are on our team.)
For all the times you had friends, family, & coworkers say "I would love to try this for a day," this is that day!
It will be a day of the SCA at its finest. This is our day to shine - so wear your best garb, bring your best armour, dazzle with your best A&S entry, and come show off.
Artisans, show off your talents, skills, & crafts. Come display your finest works in our Artisans' Tent. Participate in our Populace Choice Competition. Do you prefer something more interactive? Then come and do a demonstration or a class! Blacksmithing, Bead Making, Spinning, German Long Sword, etc. - What are you passionate about? Please come and share. For display space in the competition tent, please contact THL Bryghida Zajacszowa. For demonstration & class space, please contact Lady Mairead O'Fearghail.
For those who wish to allow the Muse to move them, there is a grand amphitheater on which to perform. Bards, Musicians, Dancers, & Entertainers of all kinds may reserve a time for their performances at the amphitheater. Prefer to stroll as a minstrel or set up another type of act...juggler, magic, marionettes? We would welcome that as well. (Lepers and fools by appointment only; please send video.) Please contact Dame Bronwyn MacFhionghuin.
Come and display your grandeur and prowess on the martialed list fields - Tournaments, Melees, and other forms of fun in full view and cheer of the crowd. Contact Duke Sir Timothy of Arindale for the Heavy List and Don Orlando di Bene del Vinta for Fencing. Archery will be overseen by Master Denys the Decadent and Thrown Weapons by Baron Tigernach mac Cathail.
Merchants - You betch'ya! We want to shop, and so does the public! Food vendors are welcome as well as those selling handcrafted items and other merchants. Our site offers plenty of space for merchant pavilions; limited Bazaar space will also be available. Contact Lord Perote Gomal Campbell for your application.
Even though the event is free, we strongly encourage preregistration so we have enough space & food to ensure your day is comfortable. Please send reservations to Reb Nicodemus ben Mordecai by August 20th to ensure food and space are reserved. If you find after prereg deadline has passed that you can join us after all, please don't let that keep you away; just let Reb Nicodemus ben Mordecai know by e-mail that you'll be joining us.
