Wilkommen und Bienvenue a Neuf Weasel!

Please join the Barony of Smoking Rocks as we celebrate Neuf Weasel (Ice Weasel IX) the premier winter fighting event (if you're man enough to take it).  As is our tradition, there will be fighting in the snow if the weather cooperates.  If you're a true warrior, what's a little snow? You've seen worse weather crossing the Alps.

Site opens at 10 a.m.  with the annual timed bear pit tourney beginning at 11:30, with some triad drills in the afternoon.  We expect to have a fencing bear pit tourney as well, if the weather is fair.

For those who wish to pursue less violent activities we will offer shopping opportunities and arts & science classes ranging from combat communication, millinery, and music lessons to fiber arts instruction forsprang and kumihimo.  There will be family activities to keep children and youth entertained as well, including soap carving, weaving and games.  We will also host a themed treasure hunt to solve the secret identity of the mysterious figure who is known as St.  Valentine!  Who will be the first to unmask this patron saint of the lovelorn? The treasure hunt will be open to singles or teams, depending on the number of participants.

Fighters will also have a chance to show off their courtly manners as they champion a gentle of their choosing.  An award will be given to the fighter who gives the best presentation to their chosen inspiration - be it through poetry, song, verse, interpretive dance or some other performance during supper.

Lord Andris Lowenstein will be serving a hearty and filling luncheon at noon, and in the evening, a light supper that will feature dishes of the Teutonic tradition and Parisian courts.  Please note:  The VFW operates a full cash bar on site, with beer, wine and liquor.  Alcohol must be purchased from the VFW; open containers are not permitted outside the building.  No pets; service animals only.
