|Spring has come to our Eastern lands and it’s time to dust off our gear and get out and play outdoors! The Shire of Quintavia is pleased to host a schola for outdoor activities for the whole family. Activities are geared for both adults and youth to learn with parental supervision. There will be classes throughout the day for who wish to learn the marshaled arts including Archery, Thrown Weapons, Heavy List, and Fencing.|
There will also be A&S Classes and activities that are better done outdoors such as; Dyeing, Cooking over an open fire, and Bee keeping to name a few already scheduled.
Also an Arts & Sciences Display and competition of outdoor activity inspired projects will take place. Those who wish to teach or Display/Compete in the A&S should contact email@example.com
Shire Champions will be chosen during the tournaments and competitions as well as the champion of the day for each activity.
Archery competitions one designed for adults and youth who wish to learn and compete, by Lord Aleksei Dmitriev.
The Thrown weapons competition will be run by Lord Brokk Jarlsson.
Heavy List, authorizations and tournament will be run by Lord Tegan
The Tournament Shall be Fought as a round robin if possible. Each victory is worth one point.
Each participant is expected to fight using each of their weapons forms, divided equally amongst their opponents. The remainder of the bouts can be fought using any authorized weapons form. Thus, if Sir Dude of Bro is authorized in 3 weapons forms (Weapon & Shield, 2 Weapons, Great Weapon) and will face off against 8 opponents during the day, Sir Dude must use each weapons form at least twice. If he has 9 opponents, he will have to use each weapons form exactly three times.
Choice of form shall be made before knowing the form chosen by your opponent.
The participant with the highest score shall be declared the overall winner. In the event of a tie, the Ministry of Lists shall use an appropriate method to break the tie.
The participant from the Shire of Quintavia with the highest score shall be declared the Shire Defender. This need not be the same person as the overall winner.
Participants are encouraged to bring sufficient arsenal that they do not need to borrow equipment and thus delay the competition.
Fencing, authorizations and tournament will be run by Mistress Xandra Rozina Xiberras Galea
Fencing will include a tournament, pick-up bouts, and melee practice. Tournament signups begin at 10 with the tournament to begin at 11. The tournament will include fencing with multiple weapon forms (single, offensive, and defensive, so participants are encouraged to bring sufficient arsenal that they do not need to borrow equipment and thus delay the competition.) Prizes will be awarded to the winner, and the participant from the Shire of Quintavia with the highest score in the tournament will be named the Defender, with additional prizes for the Defender. Forward any questions to Rozi: rozi at baeli.com
Rules for the first Rapier Defender of Quintavia Tournament
1. All authorized fencers are welcome to enter the tournament
2. There will be a prize for the overall winner, and prizes for the Defender. The Defender will be the participant from the Shire of Quintavia with the highest score in the tournament. These may then be the same person.

4. At the start of the tournament, each participant will be given a number of tokens equal to the number of bouts. The tokens will be equally divided into three categories:
Single sword wielded by one hand
Offensive form (including two-handed sword, case of rapier, and dagger)
Defensive form (a sword in one hand and a defensive item in the other)
5. If a fencer is not authorized a form(s) of one of the types the total tokens will remain the same, but will be divided accordingly (for example, if a fencer is not authorized in any offensive forms, and they will face 12 opponents, then they will receive 6 tokens for each of the other two forms)
6. For numbers not divisible by the number of forms, the MoL has sole right to distribute the tokens to the fencers as he/she deems fit
7. At the start of each bout, the fencers will give their selected token to the marshal.
8. Participants are encouraged to bring sufficient arsenal that they do not need to borrow equipment and thus delay the competition.
